Gonzalo Vicolas Virano fired a shot from outside the penalty area that went over. Senglea kept on insisting and were denied by the post on the 9th minute. Terence Vella delivered a low cross in the direction of Au- gusto Rene Caseres whose effort hit the upright. Mosta replied on the 20th min- ute. Kurt Magro sent a shot from distance that failed to hit the tar- get. Four minutes later, Mosta broke the deadlock. Thomas Veronese's cross was met by Zack Brincat and the latter slotted the ball inside the net. Senglea tried to hit back and threatened Mosta on the 29th minute. Ryan Dalli hit a shot that was neutralised by Andreas Vella. Vella was on the alert once more on the 41st minute. Following a cross from the left side, Jonathan Bondin saw his close range header being saved by the Mosta goal- keeper. Senglea equalised on the brink of half time. Virano hit a powerful drive from distance that took a de- flection off a defender and ended up past Vella. The newly-promoted side start- ed the second half on a high af- ter equalising late inside the first half, and they went close to score again on the 53rd minute. Vella distributed a cross towards the unmarked Ryan Dalli whose shot hit the side netting. Six minutes later, Senglea lost another golden opportunity. Caseres managed to find Vella in- side the penalty area and Senglea's captain fired high from an ideal position. Senglea kept on insisting in at- tack and had another chance on the 65th minute. Dalli went on the left flank and hit a strong shot that went centimetres off target. Mosta replied on the 69th min- ute. Thomas Veronese fired a shot from the left that was blocked by Vella. Rebound fell for Kyle Fren- do and the substitute player saw his shot going over. On the 76th minute, Leonardo Henrique Ferreira of Mosta went inside the penalty area and hit a low shot that took a deflection be- fore going wide. From the result- ing corner, Frendo headed wide. Johann Scicluna's side regained the lead on the 87th minute. From a free-kick, Veronese sent a cross in the direction of Davide Mansi whose powerful header gave Gi- ulio Centrangolo no chance. Senglea tried to react, but Mo- sta remained defensively or- ganised to take home the three points.
