In the second division Sta Venera Red Square continued with their winning streak after beating Mosta Horseshoe Bar B 5-3, keeping their 5-point lead over second place Floriana Ajax MCP B. Krishna batted first and reached the respectable total of 129 runs with Sumair Khan (29), Sam Aquilina (18) and Amar Sharma (23) leading the way. For Marsa, Michael Nazir was the major wicket- taker with 2 wickets for 20 runs, while wicket-keeper John Grima contributed a catch and a run-out. Marsa's run chase started impressively with Wasim Khan and Feroz Ahmed putting on 39 runs for the first wicket however their innings stuttered as wickets fell at regular intervals. John Grima's dismissal gave Krishna victory by 26 runs. For Krishna, Amar Shar- ma was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets for 17 runs. Keeper Aquilina equalled the contribution of his counterpart Grima with a catch and a run-out for Krishna. This Saturday sees the resumption of Malta Cricket's Junior Acad- emy (activities start at 9am); followed by Game 5 of Winter League between Melita CC and Krishna CC at the Marsa Oval.
