In leaflets promoting the trade fair at Montekristo, people were told they can enter the animal park at a discounted price despite the zoo having been shut down by the authorities. It now transpires that the advert for the animal park in the leaflet that was distributed to households was put there "by mistake", according to the company lawyer. In a statement, Chetcuti's family called on people attending the funeral not to give flowers but instead to give donations to the Sisters of the Ursuline Creche. Last month, Chetcuti had vis- ited the creche and made a sizeable do- nation. The family said that attendees were requested to wear black, turn off their mobiles and refrain from filming. Chetcuti died last week in hospital from complications after a knife at- tack by a former employee. The funeral is expected to take place at 10am at Christ the King parish church in Pao- la's main square. Known as the entertainment king for his sprawling Paceville empire, Chetcuti was originally from Santa Luċija. His assailant, Serb national Bojan Cmelik has been charged with the murder and the compilation of evi- dence against him is expected to start today in front of Magistrate Marse- anne Farrugia. Back in April, an investigation by the Department of Contacts had found that there was a "f lagrant breach" of procurement rules in the Public Broadcasting Service's (PBS) decision to lease the cars from Bur- marrad Commercials. The investigation led to contracts being terminated by the department. "There are sufficient grounds to de- termine that procurement regulations have been blatantly breached and that such breaches irremediably vitiated the award of this procurement pro- cess. Consequently, it is being de- cided that, given the breaches are of a serious nature, the contracts awarded in terms of these class for quotations are terminated with im- mediate effect."
