They plan to organise a beauty pageant at the ball, yet struggle tremendously to find enough pretty con- testants. Jason Mraz is back with a brand new album, 'Know.'. The 'I'm Yours' singer said the new album is a love letter to his wife, and the song/music video "Might As Well Dance," also includes clips from their wed- ding. The alum is lighthearted and hopeful and is a guaranteed feel-good album. Red Electrick - G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S Red Electrick released a new song this week, G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. The song is already making waves on the island, and you'll probably going to be listen- ing to the track a lot this summer. Earlier this year, it was announced that singer/musician Joe Roscoe would be the new front man. Months of hard work at the studio and with producers in Los Angeles have seriously paid off, and the new track is a perfect summer track. Robyn – Missing U Robyn might still be dancing on her own, with her latest song out called 'Missing U'. Robyn returned after an eight-year break between pop solo albums, and the latest songs do not disappoint. The song sounds like old Robyn, for sure, but it also brings with it a tone of delicacy and sadness. Jarmuk - Stephen Lughermo Published by Horizons Marwan and Chanelle, the protagonists of Jarmuk, experience this burden very early in life. Still in their secondary school years, they face the emptiness that surrounds them. Their isolation has different facets. Chanelle's is more psychological than physi- cal. Besides the fact that her mother left home for another man, Chanelle lives with the rest of the fam- ily under the same roof. Nevertheless, her father's detachment, her brother's foolishness and the loss of her grandfather strip her of all human contact, and in return, present her with obstacles and responsibilities. The latter prevent her from follow- ing her dreams and further isolate her from fellow teenagers. Jarmuk is Stephen Lughermo's second novel. His first work, X'Ahna Smart! (2015, Horizons) won the Literary Contest of Novels for Youths 2014 organised by the National Book Council and Agenzija Zghazagh. With this novel, Lughermo continues to explore a young adult world but from a deeper and more mature perspective. In fact, although the main characters of this work are teenagers, this novel appeals to readers of all ages. A Girl's Guide to Missiles - Karen Piper Piper grew up surrounded by missile testing sites in the China Lake Naval Weapons Centre, a top-secret enclave in the Mojave Desert in the western US. Founded so World War Two-era rocket scientists could design and detonate weapons, it expanded to more than a million acres after the war, and developed 75% of conventional weapons for the US military. In Piper's fascinating Cold War memoir, she draws from memory, family docu- ments, interviews and declassified files to discover "black programs", her father's hidden past, and other secrets at the heart of the place she called home. A River of Stars by Vanessa Hua In a powerful debut novel about modern-day motherhood, immigration, and identity, a preg- nant Chinese woman makes her way to California and stakes a claim to the American dream. After getting pregnant by her married boss, a Chinese woman is sent to a secret maternity home in L.A., where she tries to deal with her overbearing house- mates and grab her part of the American dream.
