17 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 12 SEPTEMBER 2018 COMMERCIAL DURING the launch of the latest prospectus 2018-2019, the Institute of Education (IfE) announced an overwhelm- ing response on new degree programmes. In a sign that highlights quality teaching, a number of new online and part-time degree programmes launched by the Institute for Education for teachers in Mal- ta attracted large number of applications, especially its new Master in Applied Educational Leadership as well as Master of Education (Primary) and Bachelor of Education (Pri- mary). IfE's other degree pro- grammes include Bachelor in Hospitality, Master of Educa- tion in Physical Education, Agribusiness, Hospitality, and Humanities. The programmes are accredited by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education (NCFHE) and are underpinned by prin- ciples of accessibility, flex- ibility, inclusivity, and imple- mentation of the 21st century skills. Further, the course par- ticipant is placed at the centre of the learning experience and all tasks are relevant to the classroom experience. CEO of the Institute for Edu- cation Joanne Grima, said "all our courses focus on develop- ment of high-impact teaching for over 8,500 educators in Malta and equip them with the required competences to func- tion effectively in the class- room of today, and tomorrow." Education Minister Evarist Bartolo stated that "we are on a mission to unlock Malta's true potential and this can only be achieved through the delivery of world-class education. Our teachers will steward this am- bition and with IfE's assistance they now have more ways to help drive personal and social change and prosperity." Educators can choose from a menu of accredited courses, short programmes and quali- fications, delivered in a blend- ed learning environment for maximum accessibility. The full list of degree pro- grammes as well as more than 80 courses on offer by IfE can be accessed from the Insti- tute's website at www.ife.gov. mt in the form of a detailed online prospectus. Institute for Education receives overwhelming response on new degree programmes 'TAKE Control' is the theme of the newly launched Drinka- waremalta.com campaign by The Sense Group. Featuring a series of blurry images, the campaign brings to the fore a common symptom of exces- sive alcohol consumption. While designed to address young adults, promoting moderation while consuming alcohol, the campaign's mes- sage also addresses parents and bartenders inviting them to 'Take Control' and keep a watchful eye for any signs of alcohol intoxication or abuse. "With our Take Control message, we are encourag- ing adults, teenagers and bartenders to enjoy or serve alcohol with caution; to en- sure that are always in con- trol, for their own sake and for others," said Ray Grech, Director General of The Sense Group, which has run numerous initiatives to pro- mote moderation in alcohol consumption since 1997. The public is invited to share this message as much as possible in order to create more awareness, and to visit the drinkawaremalta.com website to learn more about the facts that can lead to a way of living with alcohol as a part of a well- balanced lifestyle.
