maltatoday | SUNDAY • 23 SEPTEMBER 2018 21 COMMERCIAL The SsangYong Tivoli IN the early sixties, SsangYong Motors was the only Korean automobile manufacturer fo- cusing on off-road vehicles with the assembly of Jeeps for the USA army. Since the turn of the decade, and through be- coming a subsidiary of the In- dian conglomerate Mahindra & Mahindra, the Korean based company has set sight on high- er targets. With the introduction of their contemporary Cross Over Utility (CUV), affectionately named the Tivoli, SsangYong have shown that they are able to compete with some of the biggest industry names in the popular crossover market, in aesthetics, design and perfor- mance. The Tivoli boasts both an el- egant and practical exterior de- sign, functionality and innova- tive technology. The car's slick features, play off the LED lights making the front end of the car feel modern and handsomely sculpted. These elements blend perfectly with the tidy profile of the car and its purposeful rear quarters. To go along with the Tivo- li's clean exterior, the engi- neers at SsangYong certainly pulled no punches with their detailed interior styling. The interior room in the Tivoli is easily among the best in its class. Merging the finest there is to offer in modern automo- bile technology, such as cruise control and smart steering, in tandem with a slick interior design, the Tivoli has rede- fined the standard style for all CUVs. The chunky D-cut steering wheel looks and feels fantastic, the ergonomic fas- cia is both modern and pow- erful, the efficiently designed storage space will prove use- ful during any journey, and the luxurious and satisfying leather seats offer great com- fort and style. Whilst the aesthetics of the Tivoli put it in a league of its own, the car's performance is by no means lacking behind as the CUV is quick on the up- take and offers its drivers great ride quality at all speeds. The Tivoli's suspension soaks up the lumps and bumps of the road and the easy handling of the car, makes it smooth to cut around corners. SsangYong's Tivoli also comes with some of the best safety features on the market. Equipped with seven airbags as well as having 40 percent of its body made up of advanced high-strength steel, the Tivoli's design puts the safety of its drivers and passengers at the forefront. In fact, SsangYong has stated that the Tivoli achieved the highest rating possible for AE-MDB side-im- pact collision tests. Staff of GSD Marketing Ltd do their part at The Bubble Festival Farsons Group participates in JAYE – Leaders for a Day GSD Marketing Ltd. are proud supporters of The Bubble Festi- val – Festival of Light, a festival which supports humanitar- ian and environmental causes. GSD Marketing Ltd supported The Bubble Festival in two dif- ferent ways. First, by financially sponsoring the beverages for the festival. All the beverages will be on draught so as to fur- ther minimize the creation of waste. Secondly, the Company, through the Public Affairs and Communications Department organised a group of employees who volunteered at the Festival. These volunteers joined the sustainability team of the fes- tival and went around the area collecting waste and divided it accordingly for it to be recycled. The Bubble's 'leave no trace' policy has seen organisers pro- gressively step up their efforts to reduce the festival's ecologi- cal footprint so that not a single kilogram of waste ends up in a landfill. "As a company, we are com- mitted to support the com- munity through activities that raise the public's awareness about sustainable living. GSD Marketing Ltd. believes that sustainability should be at the centre of every business endeavour. All of us need to do our part in caring for our environment by reducing the human impact on the environ- ment," said Public Affairs and Communications Manager at GSD Marketing Ltd, George Douglas Saliba. The Bubble is now a full eco- festival which last year alone raised €30,000 for sustain- able and humanitarian causes and has charted a sustainable course for other events to emu- late. FARSONS Group believes in supporting talent, students and keen individuals who are eager to learn by providing the opportunity to drive them forward on their career paths. In line with this belief, the Group participated in the JAYE – Leaders for a Day programme, held on 5th Sep- tember. Jake Zahra shadowed Burger King Fran- chise Manager, Ivan Cardona, for the day. The Leaders for a Day initiative offers young and aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to shadow a senior management member at a lead- ing Maltese company. This is one of nine pro- grammes and initiatives delivered by JAYE Mal- ta Foundation, that target young people from 7 to 30 years of age, all designed with the purpose of 'Inspiring Young Minds' through entrepre- neurship education. Farsons deems this initiative to be a great learn- ing opportunity for students to acquire invalu- able knowledge on what goes on in terms of daily business responsibilities. While this only offers a glimpse into what is needed to run a success- ful business, the JAYE – Leaders for a Day pro- gramme provides students with an understand- ing of the coordination, collaboration, ambition and hard work required to succeed, also teach- ing them values including teamwork, integrity, respect, dynamism and excellence, all of which are part of our daily working culture. The participant's feedback speaks for itself. Jake Zahra said that, "It was an unforgettable experi- ence in which I gained new insight into what it takes to run a successful business. It was also an inspiration for the future as I now have a much clearer picture of what I would like my company to represent." Meanwhile, in line with the company's belief in supporting others, Ivan Cardona commented, "I am pleased that I was given the opportunity to participate in this programme and was proud to represent our company and my brand in such an initiative. The experience was positive, es- pecially since we provided Jake with insight on what a typical day entails from a leader's per- spective, highlighting the importance of team- work and communication between the different departments within an organisation, as well as the importance we, as a company, give to the de- velopment and growth of our people. He was im- pressed by the complexity of our operation and how many standards and procedures we must follow to serve a high-quality product."
