TELEVISION maltatoday 16 | SUNDAY • 30 SEPTEMBER 2018 New season for Xtra, Gourmet and Dwarna THREE programmes produced by MediaTo- day and B2B will be screened on TVM and TVM2. Established host and presenter Saviour Balzan will present Xtra, a current affairs programme aired on Thursday at 8.50pm on TVM1. The usual style of hard-hitting questions will be followed through in the interview-styled current affairs programme. Balzan has been hosting TV programmes on TVM since 2002 and says: "In Xtra I try to make the guests feel as comfortable as pos- sible and make them talk as if we were sitting together and simply chatting. It is only then that you get some honest answers." "We are coming up with a new look and some exciting changes together with some snippets on ongoing topics such as Europe." Also on TVM 1, GourmetToday with four new chefs is a show that is bringing some great chefs and food personalities. Hosted by Gastronome Kurt Mifsud and Chef Keith Abela from the Mediterranean Culinary Academy, and Root 81's Chef Patron Robert Cassar and head chef Letizia Vella, the programme will prepare great meals, but also educate and entertain at the same time. GourmetToday is screened on Thursday at 6.15pm on TVM. And in its fourth year running, Dwarna is a programme about people, social and psychol- ogy issues and problems and solutions. It is presented by Mariella Dimech, a psy- chologist herself, with the participation of nu- merous personalities with a story to narrate. The programme is a people oriented pro- gramme and aims to engage with people by offering new avenues and solutions. It is aired on Tuesday on TVM2 at 9pm. All the programmes are produced by B2B for MediaToday at the new studio at San Gwann. The audiovisual is led by Matt Brown together with Tony Camilleri and assisted by videogra- pher James Bianchi. Advertising and Sales are in the hands of Eri- ka Arrigo. The studios also offer services in market- ing and audiovisual productions.
