We are willing to help MITA employees and Government officials embark on a learning journey. We will assist them by providing the necessary guidance, training, equipment and materials. This is a learning opportunity for these employees, and it can lead to cross sectoral collaboration with other professionals from different industries. All activities at the Emerging Technologies Lab are targeted towards technology fields related to DLTs and Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality , Internet of Things, 3D Printing/ Scanners and others. The Lab offers state of the art technology that can be used to innovate, and enhave various sectors including educational technology, artificial intelligence and robotics. Virtual & Mixed Reality In the Emerging Technologies Lab there are multiple virtual and mixed realit y headsets of different manufacturers. All headsets come with different software that allows the user to search for apps according to one's interest. These apps can be download for use directly on the headset, with some of them being free and others at a price. Once the user puts on the VR headset, the individual is immersed into a virtual world. One can look around 360 degrees and move around in this virtual realit y. Interaction with the headset can be done through two controllers that according to the particular application take the form of hands and offer various controls. The application that was demonstrated during the launch of the Emerging Technologies Lab was related to health. It is a real-time simulation app of the human body where one can explore organs and systems in a fully immersive 3D system. in the introduction within Government The lab will serve as the place where MITA employees, Government employees, students and startups will explore new emerging technologies, their benefits and share knowledge
