21 COMMERCIAL maltatoday | SUNDAY • 14 OCTOBER 2018 VOOMQUEST 004 fuelled by Enemed: Ischia, Citta Di Forio FOLLOWING the success of last month's Grand Prix of Italy Trofeo Citta di Chiog- gia, VOOMQUEST took their successful powerboat racing championship to Ischia, a volcanic island in the Gulf of Naples, Italy. VOOMQUEST 004 fuelled by Enemed, be- gan bright and early on Fri- day with a pilots' briefing fol- lowed by an official practise session. The race was howev- er cancelled due to rough sea conditions. The first race was held on Saturday afternoon, during which both the V2 class pow- erboats and the Endurance class participated - a total of 24 boats on one circuit! After a gruelling race, Team Atomic & Grey managed to beat out competition and nab the day's top honour, with Team Cutting Edge coming in second followed by Team In- terceptor Remax making it to podium position. Team Marine Diffusion did not make it to the finish line following a spectacular 360 side f lip with the drivers coming out safe and once on dry land working against the clock on the engine to make it to Sunday's races. The championship saw the return of previous entries from Corsica and Belgium and our very own homegrown teams; Team Cutting Edge and Team Interceptor Remax. In an event organised by JUGS Malta, all employees participated in a number of activities that aimed to in- crease communication and team-work. During the day, employees in different teams participated in 'Whacky Olympics', which included three-lagged egg race, relay and pram races, water games, football and tug of war among others. "Such events allow our em- ployees to socialise and get to know each other better. As a result of such team- work and team-bonding, employees work better to- gether when they return to their workplace. We strongly believe that they also con- tribute towards a better experience for our clients. Such events provide motiva- tion and also some fun at the work place," Chief Office HR Ines Silva said. MAPFRE Middlesea or- ganises a number of activi- ties throughout the year that allow for the development of its employees. These in- clude volunteering activities, workshops and training. "As the company evolves, our team needs to evolve with it. We ensure that em- ployees are provided with a good developmental and motivatational programme," Silva said. CONSTRUCTION work on the Vassallo Business Park, an- other project which forms part of Vassallo Group's extensive portfolio, has just commenced. This is a 28,000 square metre area which will be developed to cater for 25,000 square metres of large industrial rental space in the central north area of Burmarrad. The state-of-the-art com- plex is to be spread over two levels and will offer maxi- mum f lexibilit y with spaces ranging from 400 to 10,000 square metres. As an added value, the prop- ert y will feature a 30 metre buffer zone between the de- velopment and the valley to enhance over 6,000 square metres of landscaping. In addition, each unit will have its own mezzanine and office administration area. Vassallo Business Park will also feature an administra- tion block from which the complex will be managed. The area includes space for retail outlets and parking spaces within the building. The units within this com- plex will be available during the first quarter of 2020.
