These never seen before, mangled and distorted volumes have lain static, bur- ied in boxes, out of sight, for decades – their reason for be- ing, gone. Parallel Existences will be on show at Valletta Contemporary in Valletta un- til 2 November 2018. NOVEMBER 8 – 29 Saudade - Paintings by Gabriel Buttigieg In his new body of work Ga- briel explores with beauty the strained nature of experience. Establishing identity through memory, nothing remains unmoved. Gabriel's paintings array how cultural memory is a reconstructive affair where through colour, tone, and emotion, specific events are constantly recollected or re- valued. 'Saudade' opens on the 8th November 2018 at Palazzo de la Salle, Republic Street, Valletta, and runs until the 29th November 2018. THEATRE UNTIL TODAY Tebut Isfar Ġorġ has lived with his daughter in his little coffin shop in Valletta for all he can remember. But now a develop- er has set his sights on buying the shop to build a boutique hotel. His wife comes along and makes a strange request. She wants a yellow coffin. Could Ġorġ be tempted to sell? But what is the big secret he is hiding in the kitchen? This play will be staged at VCT (ex MITP), Valletta in October 2018. The script will be published. The play is writ- ten by Clare Azzopardi and will be directed by Marcelle Teuma. The cast is made up of Peter Galea, Leigh Ann Abela, Mariele Zammit and Anthony Ellul. UNTIL TODAY AMADEUS by Peter Shaffer – Masquerade Theatre Company The world-renowned Peter Shaffer play 'Amadeus' is be- ing staged by Masquerade Theatre Company at the Teat- ru Manoel this month. Direct- ed by Stephen Oliver and fea- turing some of Malta's finest performers as the play's leads and supporting roles, the cast includes Thomas Camilleri as Mozart and Manual Cauchi as Salieri. 'Amadeus' follows the lives of composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Anto- nio Salieri in a fictionalised history of their intense com- petition in 18th century Vi- enna, and Salieri's bitter envy in the face of Mozart's musical genius. Amadeus will have six performances at Teatru Ma- noel, Valletta between 19-21 & 26-28 October 2018. Tick- ets will be available via www. teatrumanoel.com.mt UNTIL TODAY De-terminated: The Abortion Diaries Premiering in October, 'De- terminated' weaves out the intolerance, the frustration and cacophony eclipsing the abortion issue in Malta. Based on one-on-one interviews car- ried out in 2017, the one-act play brings out the stark real- ity of a dilemma often played out behind the scenes. With the strictest abortion laws in the world, is Malta sup- pressing women's rights or is the country really preventing murder of the unborn?
