17 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 31 OCTOBER 2018 COMMERCIAL AMONG Famalco Group's diverse range of represented companies, one will find the exciting, excavation and dem- olition specialist company known as Faceworks Ltd. Since beginning operations under the parent company in August 2008, Faceworks Ltd has estab- lished a well-earned name for itself within the industry. The company offers an ex- tremely reliable service thanks to their committed staff and state-of-the-art equipment. In fact, when first starting out, Faceworks made a bold deci- sion and invested in new and innovative equipment rather than use second-hand and less costly ones, even though the market was on the verge of saturation at the time. The company's equipment consists of trenchers, excavators (such as the gigantic Case Excava- tor 1121F), dumping trucks, bucket crushers and other equipment which weigh up to 49 tonnes. This array of equipment not only allows for optimal per- formance and practicality, but also sets Faceworks apart, as it boasts one of the largest fleets in the country within the exca- vation and demolition indus- try. Faceworks guarantees the latest technology, safety on the workplace, reduction of exces- sive noise levels and the most effective eco-friendly service as possible. The company has built an impressive portfolio of work. These projects range from ex- cavation works on Hyundai and Fiat showrooms, works on Mercury House in Paceville to the excavation of old factories, lands for apartments and the excavation and conversion of a quarry in Siggiewi. The com- pany is also responsible for re- furbishments on petrol service stations such in Bir id-Deheb and in Marsascala. Hermann Mallia, the Director and co-Founder of Faceworks' parent company, Famalco Group, happily said that the company aims at proving the best service possible. "Face- works wishes to become a household name when it comes to excavation and demolition", says Mallia, a dream which is quickly being realised given the company's ever-growing popu- larity on the island. The com- pany's success is also subject to its hard-working employees who are dedicated in provid- ing the best possible service to their clients. The company ap- preciates its employees' hard- work and invests in them by means of training programmes on equipment handling and overall workplace safety. As a result, Faceworks' em- ployees feel appreciated by the company. In fact, Cleaven Fenech, who has been work- ing for the company for the past two years said, "Now that I joined Faceworks, I don't see myself anywhere else". He con- tinued that Faceworks' Direc- tor and Famalco's youngest co- Founder, Etienne Mallia, is one of the most respectful people he has ever met, who instantly believed in Fenech's capabili- ties and provided him with lim- itless opportunities. Among the array of services Faceworks provides are Land Clearing, Well Excavation, Waste Management, Trench- ing, Excavation and Demoli- tion. Faceworks also offers Re- cycling Services of inert waste material in their Quarry in Sig- giewi. Given these array of services and the company's history in a short period of time, it comes to no surprise that Faceworks will continue to thrive for many years to come. Medasia Playa holds fundraiser in aid of Victim Support Malta THE 27-strong team of cyclists and back-up support team members of the 2018 Fos- ter Clark LifeCycle Challenge have returned to Malta safely. Considered as the biggest and toughest challenge in the series since its inception in 1999, this year's challenge took the cy- clists from Abu Dhabi to Sala- lah in Southern Oman. Powered by Foster Clark who donated €25,000 for research on kidney defects at the Uni- versity of Malta, and led by the cool-headed founder Alan Curry, the LifeCycle Challenge is held every year for the past 19 years in aid of renal patients. A 10-day continuous ride, at times the route was longer than 200 km a day, the cyclists rode mostly on desert roads, across mountainous region with many undulations and hills, and no doubt in scorching heat. Each day, they were quite exhausted but their courage, dedication and knowing they are helping a noble cause has kept them all focused to reach the finishing line. "Finishing the biggest Chal- lenge was a memorable day for us. We had some injuries along the route, five riders had to withdraw, while 16 riders com- pleted the challenge," Curry said. "LifeCycle (Malta) Founda- tion will continue to work hard to generate further awareness on kidney failure and better care for renal patients, and to sustain kidney research. We thank our title sponsor Foster Clark, our other sponsors, our cyclists and back-up team who worked so hard on this chal- lenge. Our hearts go out to those patients suffering from renal disease and families." "We welcome back the heroes of Foster Clark LifeCycle Chal- lenge," said John Schembri, Foster Clark's Head of Opera- tions. "The LifeCycle Challenge and Foster Clark share the same mindset and values. We couldn't be prouder to sup- port Alan Curry and his team in their noble cause for the sec- ond consecutive year."
