15 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 7 NOVEMBER 2018 LISTINGS WHAT'S ON ACTIVITIES NOVEMBER 7 – 11 The Malta Book Festival 2018 The Malta Book Festival is the most prominent and pres- tigious book celebration of the year, which will take place at MCC, Valletta, starting from Wednesday 7 November 2018 and going on till Sunday 11 November 2018. Among the innovations of this year's edi- tion, there will also be a per- formance by the duo Danusan and the tickets for the perfor- mance will be redeemable as vouchers for books on sale in the exhibition halls of MCC during the Festival. The tick- ets will be available for sale online in the first week of Sep- tember. Story Part y has toured over 50 countries because the dating strug- gle is real, worldwide. You' ll hear stories about ghosting, unwanted pictures, splitting the bill, cat-fishing, heart- break, and "I can't believe these are true stories" from our professional storytellers. NOVEMBER 23 -24 Utopian Nights at the Chinese Garden of Serenity Utopian Nights invites the public to engage with specific contemporary issues to pro- mote a more inclusive society. With artists and local as well as international thinkers, the public will participate in a col- lective effort to design a uto- pia, an alternative society for a better future. The upcoming edition, The Utopian Nights on Commons, takes place on the 23rd and the 24th of November at Chi- nese Garden of Serenity in Santa Lucia. MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE NOVEMBER 9 SOS! ABBA Revival - The Tribute Are you a Super Trouper or Mamma Mia maniac? We've got news for you! For one night only, the UK's No 1 ABBA tribute band Revival is bring- ing the legendary Swedish pop group's biggest hits to life in a spectacular show in Malta on 9 November. ABBA Revival is known to wow audiences with its stunning costumes and energetic choreography, travelling back in time to the musical haven of the 70s disco days. This stunning produc- tion has impressed Dancing Queens and Super Troupers all over the world and is gear- ing up to transform Gianpula Village into the ultimate disco dance f loor on 9 November. Establishing identity through memory, nothing remains unmoved. Gabriel's paintings array how cultural memory is a reconstructive affair where through colour, tone, and emotion, specific events are constantly recollected or re- valued. 'Saudade' opens on the 8th November 2018 at Palazzo de la Salle, Republic Street, Val- letta, and runs until the 29th November 2018. NOVEMBER 17 – DECEMBER 9 Vo_eracity Lazuli Art Gallery – a Fair Trade Gallery of Primitive Art which also curates con- temporary exhibitions of both local and international art- ists in winter – is launching the first collaborative exhibi- tion of father and son Paul & Thomas Scerri, of sculptures in different mediums entitles Vo_eracity this November in Victoria, Gozo. The sculp- tures will be exhibited at 83 Palm Street, Victoria Gozo, between November 17 and December 9. THEATRE NOVEMBER 9 – 11 Festa tal-Qaddisin............. Hadd ma' jista ghalina A social spectacle about Malta's village feasts, us- ing band and march music, the play looks at the differ- ence between what the feasts mean, and what the Mal- tese have turned them into. A saint who comes back to earth is shocked at Malta's festivities and people's men- talities. The play will be per- formed at the Teatru Manoel between the 9th and 11th of November, with tickets rang- ing from €10-20.
