Sector insiders who spoke at yesterday's KPMG Gam- ing eSummit also pointed out problems connected with a lack of available spaces in schools for children of for- eign workers, too high prop- erty prices and banking sec- tor access shortcomings, which they said were not making things easier for the gaming industry. Enrico Bradamante, chair- man of iGEN, a representa- tive group of the gaming sector, said Malta's efforts to dispel the negative reputa- tion the country had when it comes to money laundering were not enough. "And this issue is affect- ing everything, including the banking sector. So, we are currently in discussions with the government on how to ensure that the rule of law in Malta is upheld to very high standards," he said. Bradamante said Malta had become the home of gaming excellence, and the epicentre in the sector. He predicted that "a lot of further growth" was still to come, but that the island had to continue being a leader in regulating the area. "The country is very open to dialogue, something I haven't seen in any other place," he said. Greentube chief legal of- fice Trevor Degiorgio said that his company sometimes faced problems related to obtaining licences in other countries. "We face challenges when trying to get a licence in other jurisdictions and are asked very uncomfortable questions about money laun- dering in Malta sometimes," Degiorgio said.
