Following the massive success of last year's show The Comedy Knights: 5how Me The Funny, the Lords and La- dies of comedy are coming back with this year's festive season special: Comedy Knights: Let's Talk About SIX! powered by XFM 100.2. MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE NOVEMBER 30 Pick'n'Pen Chapter III The third Music and Literature event by Pick'n'Pen is here! This time the group will be joined on stage by Tact. Pick'n'Pen, a musico-literary group was formed at the beginning of 2018. Read- ings, both in Maltese and English, are original and ever-changing and will be complemented with original music by Tact. Pick'n'Pen will be at Teatru Sales- jan on November 30. DECEMBER 8-9 Like...The Beatles The BBC Beatlemania is hitting Malta! It's the magical sixties again, when four young lads took the world by storm. Back then, millions around the world followed The Beatles through radio shows TV appearances. The band sold millions of records and albums around the whole globe at a time when the global internet wasn't even a dream. Till this very day, songs by The Beatles are played over a million times a day. The Beatles will feature one of the most exciting official Beatles tribute bands around. The concert will be held at one of Mal- ta's finest indoor theatres – The Medi- terranean Conference Centre (MCC) in Valletta on the 8th and 9th of Decem- ber 2018. EXHIBITIONS NOVEMBER 8 – 29 Saudade - Paintings by Gabriel Buttigieg In his new body of work Gabriel ex- plores with beauty the strained nature of experience. Establishing identity through memory, nothing remains un- moved. Gabriel's paintings array how cultural memory is a reconstructive affair where through colour, tone, and emotion, specific events are constantly recollected or revalued. 'Saudade' opens on the 8th November 2018 at Palazzo de la Salle, Republic Street, Valletta, and runs until the 29th November 2018. NOVEMBER 15– DECEMBER 13 Wiccna WIĊĊNA is an intimate and collec- tive compendium of lith-printed photo- graphic portraits; a quiet celebration of the immeasurable variety of faces that inhabit or pass through the Maltese Is- lands. The project unfolds in two parts, an exhibition at Blitz, and an accompany- ing book of over 200 portraits alongside aesthetic, anthropological and liter- ary essays on aspects of physiognomy, identity and photography, each written in the different languages that have in- fluenced Malta throughout its history – Arabic (Walid Nabhan), English (Alex- andra Pace), French (Philippe Parizot), Italian (Virginia Monteforte), Maltese (Leanne Ellul), and Spanish (Antoine Cassar). The exhibition is being held at Blitz, Valletta. Entrance is free. NOVEMBER 17 – DECEMBER 9 Vo_eracity Lazuli Art Gallery – a Fair Trade Gal- lery of Primitive Art which also curates contemporary exhibitions of both local and international artists in winter – is launching the first collaborative ex- hibition of father and son Paul & Thomas Scerri, of sculptures in dif- ferent mediums entitles Vo_eracity this November in Victoria, Gozo. The sculptures will be exhibited at 83 Palm Street, Victoria Gozo, between Novem- ber 17 and December 9. CHRISTMAS 15 DECEMBER – 16 DECEMBER Magical Christmas Concert 2018 – MCC Valletta Malta's most anticipated Magical Christmas show is back for the 4th consecutive year as the Mediterranean Conference Centre is expected to turn into one energetic concert on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th December 2018. Shine a Light along with Mickey and Minnie together with the Malta Na- tional Children's Choir. The Magical Christmas concert will be held on Saturday 15th (7.30pm) and Sunday 16th December 2018 (4pm) at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta. Online tickets : https://www. showshappening.com/mcc/The-Magi- cal-Christmas-Concert 23 DECEMBER – JANUARY 6 Sleeping Beauty – The Panto From the producers who brought you My Fair Lady & Mamma Mia, FM Theatre Productions are back this Christmas at Teatru Manoel with the wonderful tale of Sleeping Beauty. At the christening of Princess Aurora, Maleficent, the evil Fairy, casts a spell on the baby princess. Eighteen years pass and the spell puts Aurora to sleep. Prince Charming with the help of Dame Nanna Kola and Mud- dles fights Maleficent and her whole army to break the evil spell and rid the land of the evil Fairy once and for all. The panto will be held at the Manoel Theatre from 23 December to 6 January. 23 DECEMBER – 5 JANUARY Jack and the Beanstalk – The Panto All his life young Jack has only ever had one dream - to become a famous knight. Unfortunately he comes from a dirt-poor family that can't even af- ford to keep up with the ever-increasing rent. One day, his village is attacked by giants who take away the girl he loves - presumably to eat her. Jack needs to pluck up the courage and climb that beanstalk to make the transition from zero to hero, from no- body to somebody, from loser to legend.
