6 ACTIVITIES DECEMBER 7-8 Jimmy Carr Live in Malta Jimmy Carr is bringing 'The Best Of, Ultimate, Gold, Great- est Hits World Tour' to Malta on the 7th and 8th of Decem- ber! Known for his fantastic repertoire of jokes and one- liners, and lightning-sharp delivery, Jimmy is gathering a selection of his very best jokes along with brand new material for the ultimate comedy show. Following the MASSIVE success of last year's show The Comedy Knights: 5how Me The Funny, the Lords and Ladies of comedy are com- ing back with this year's fes- tive season special: Comedy Knights: Let's Talk About SIX! powered by XFM 100.2. MUSIC AND NIGHTLIFE DECEMBER 8-9 Like...The Beatles The BBC Beatlemania is hit- ting Malta! It's the magical six- ties again, when four young lads took the world by storm. Back then, millions around the world followed The Beatles through radio shows TV appearances. The band sold millions of re- cords and albums around the globe at a time when the inter- net wasn't even a dream. Till this very day, songs by The Bea- tles are played over a million times a day. Like...The Beatles will feature one of the most exciting official Beatles tribute bands around. The concert will be held at one of Malta's finest indoor theatres – The Medi- terranean Conference Centre (MCC) in Valletta on the 8th and 9th of December 2018. EXHIBITIONS UNTIL DECEMBER 13 Wiccna WIĊĊNA is an intimate and collective compendium of lith-printed photographic por- traits; a quiet celebration of the immeasurable variety of faces that inhabit or pass through the Maltese Islands. The pro- ject unfolds in two parts, an exhibition at Blitz, and ac- companying book of over 200 portraits alongside aesthetic, anthropological and literary essays on aspects of physi- ognomy, identity and pho- tography, each written in the different languages that have influenced Malta throughout its history – Arabic (Walid Nabhan), English (Alexandra Pace), French (Philippe Pari- zot), Italian (Virginia Monte- forte), Maltese (Leanne Ellul), and Spanish (Antoine Cassar). The exhibition is being held at Blitz, Valletta. Entrance is free. NOVEMBER 17 – DECEMBER 9 Vo_eracity Lazuli Art Gallery – a Fair Trade Gallery of Primitive Art which also curates contempo- rary exhibitions of both local and international artists in winter – is launching the first collaborative exhibition of fa- ther and son Paul & Thomas Scerri, of sculptures in differ- ent mediums entitles Vo_erac- ity this November in Victoria, Gozo. The sculptures will be exhibited at 83 Palm Street, Victoria Gozo, between No- vember 17 and December 9. CHRISTMAS 15 DECEMBER – 16 DECEMBER Magical Christmas Concert 2018 – MCC Valletta Malta's most anticipated Magical Christmas show is back for the 4th consecutive year as the Mediterranean Conference Centre is expected to turn into one energetic con- cert on Saturday 15th and Sun- day 16th December 2018. Shine a Light along with Mickey and Minnie together with the Malta National Children's Choir. The Magical Christmas concert will be held on Saturday 15th (19:30) and Sunday 16th December 2018 (16:00) at the Mediterra- nean Conference Centre, Val- letta. At the christening of Princess Au- rora, Maleficent, the evil Fairy, casts a spell on the baby princess. Eighteen years pass and the spell puts Aurora to sleep. Prince Charming with the help of Dame Nanna Kola and Muddles fights Maleficent and her whole army to break the evil spell and rid the land of the evil Fairy once and for all. Sleeping Beauty is a rip roaring tale that will take the audience, young and old, from one adventure to another, with side splitting gags, laugh out loud slapstick, chases and good old "good versus evil". The panto will be held at the Manoel Theatre from 23 De- cember to 6 January. 23 DECEMBER – 5 JANUARY Jack and the Beanstalk – The Panto All his life young Jack has only ever had one dream - to become a famous knight. Un- fortunately he comes from a dirt-poor family that can't even afford to keep up with the ever-increasing rent. One day, his village is attacked by giants who take away the girl he loves - presumably to eat her. Jack needs to pluck up the courage and climb that bean- stalk to make the transition from zero to hero, from no- body to somebody, from loser to legend.
