14 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 16 DECEMBER 2018 MUSIC THE popular poetry perfor- mance that delighted audienc- es at the Teatru Salesjan ear- lier this year is set to return in February, with a soirée named Folly, Fantasy & Feeling. Hosted by Nicholas de Piro, Lucy Paterson and the pianist Alex Manché, the evening of entertainment will showcase locally-connected humorous and sentimental poems by several poets, all performed in English. These hilarious and thought-provoking verses will be shared against a backdrop of music, song, and even a chorus line. Proceeds from the one-off event will once again support the Save Valletta's Skyline Ap- peal, which aims to raise more than €8 million to fund vital restoration work to the tower, spire and structure of the iconic St Paul's Pro-Cathedral in Val- letta. "The Valletta skyline tells us an awful lot about our identi- ty," says Nicholas, who resides with his wife Frances (Ding) in their home Casa Rocca Piccola in Valletta, a 16th century pal- ace that is open to the public. "The Skyline Appeal reminds me that we must preserve it at all costs, as a vital part of Mal- ta's cultural heritage." Booking for the one-night- only performance of Folly, Fantasy & Feeling is now open, with tickets available online from the Teatru Manoel web- site, so don't miss the chance to support this worthy cause, as well as surprise a poetry- lover this Christmas with the gift of a magnificent evening of music and verse. Folly, Fantasy & Feeling will be performed for one night on- ly at the Teatru Salesjan, Slie- ma from 6.30pm until 9pm, on Wednesday 27 February 2019. Patrons are entitled to free parking.
