M6 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 17 FEBRUARY 2019 MOTORING MOTORCYCLE company Harley-Davidson is shaking-up the New Year with the release of their newly enhanced 2019 bike line-up. With the expected arrival of the newly reloaded range of motorcycles, some of which are already on Maltese shores and enjoyed by Harley fans, local Harley-Davidson dealer FAPI Motors Ltd, has ea- gerly continued the upgrade of their staff-training so that they are better placed to han- dle, repair and maintain all motorcycles to the highest professional standard. FAPI Motors recognises the cultural importance, classi- cal appeal and the loyal biker community behind the leg- endary brand, and thus always strives to provide the best possible customer experience and after-sales support. It was for this reason that the com- pany dispatched one of their service technicians to an of- ficial Harley-Davidson work- shop in Holland. Jonathan Pandolfino, friend- ly known in the biking com- munity as "Panz", as Fapi Motors' mechanic happily ac- cepted this training opportu- nity representing Harley-Da- vidson in Malta. The course began with a presentation of the new digitalised repair manuals through the 'Digital Tech 2', soon to become the new user-friendly standard for all types of Harley-David- son manuals. Pandolfino was then tasked to work on the Harley-Da- vidson Evolution®, four-lobe, gear driven camshaft engine and the Harley Davidson 60° SOHC V-twin, water-cooled Revolution engine dubbed the Revolution X™. Since the engines differ on key areas of performance it was impera- tive that adequate training is carried out on each en- gine to distinguish between their distinct and intricate components. The Evolution® engine, featuring an air-and- oil cooled engine, is used in Sportster® range models On the other hand, the Revolu- tion X™ engine is equipped with a liquid-cooled mecha- nism and is found in the Street® models. When asked to comment about his experience, Pan- dolfino reported: "The whole experience was a fundamental learning curve for me, and I believe that I am now better equipped to handle a wider variety of after-sales services. Working with Harley-Da- vidson motorbikes is always a pleasure and we fully un- derstand the value that the Harley-Davidson community places on after-sales and tech- nical services."
