17 COMMERCIAL maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 20 FEBRUARY 2019 The Tabloid wins Malta's Top Sunday Buffet Lunch award THE Tabloid Restaurant was amongst the winners at this year's WRMC (Wines and Restaurants of Malta.com) Restaurants Quality Recogni- tion Awards gala awarding best Maltese restaurants. This Blue Riband Restaurant award confirms The Tabloid as one of the top Sunday buffet lunch venues in Malta. Unquestionably this was an- other major achievement for this restaurant which is well- known for its quality, level of service, freshness of ingredi- ents, attentive preparation and presentation. All these quali- ties have been remarkably con- sistent on a high level since the beginning of The Tabloid Res- taurant at AX The Palace. Speaking at the end of the Awards night, the hotel's Gen- eral Manager, Mr Kevin Callus expressed his gratitude to the team: "I want to applaud the team at The Tabloid for this accomplishment and relentless dedication," said Mr Callus. The recognised restaurants entitled for these awards are those that have been directly surveyed and inspected by the professional survey teams of WRMC. It's interesting to note that over 120 restaurants were inspected during 2018. During the WRMC Awards, restau- rants are inspected by anony- mous surveyors and are judged repeatedly across the whole year on several facts including atmosphere, cleanliness, cui- sine quality, management and service efficiency, attitude to- wards clients, value for money and other key points. Sunday's buffet lunch at The Tabloid Restaurant offers a varied selection of antipasti that feature sushi, shellfish, meat platters and fresh salads, moving on to soups and home- made pasta. This is followed by a choice of two carvery dishes and four main courses along with several vegetable dishes. There is also a gluten free and vegetarian corner. For those with a sweet -tooth, the dessert selection will tease one's taste buds with the array of mouth-watering mousses, cheesecakes, sorbets, ice- cream and the delicious home baked white chocolate cheese cake and assortment of fresh fruit. Cheese lovers are not overlooked and find an abun- dance of fine cheeses. Moreo- ver, The Tabloid is also mak- ing available two themed food stations per week for every Sunday afternoon lunch. The Tabloid Restaurant is the ideal location for dining in Sliema for those seeking to plan a business dinner, a ro- mantic meal or a family get together. The ambience at this restaurant offers a combina- tion of contemporary interi- ors and traditional quality and those opting for this restau- rant will experience fine din- ing in Sliema with a bursting décor that is welcoming and fresh. EMIRATES airline has an- nounced an order for 40 A330- 900 aircraft, and 30 A350-900 aircraft, in a heads of agreement signed with Airbus. The deal is worth US$ 21.4 billion at list prices. e latest generation Airbus A330neo and A350 aircraft, will be delivered to Emirates starting from 2021 and 2024 respectively. In addition, Airbus and Emir- ates reached an agreement on outstanding A380 deliveries. e airline will receive 14 more A380s from 2019 until the end of 2021, taking its total A380 order book to 123 units. Commenting on the agree- ment on A380 deliveries, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, said: "After many months of discussions, we have come to an agreement with Airbus and Rolls-Royce. "Emirates has been a staunch supporter of the A380 since its very inception. While we are disappointed to have to give up our order, and sad that the pro- gramme could not be sustained, we accept that this is the reality of the situation. For us, the A380 is a wonderful aircraft loved by our customers and our crew. It is a differentiator for Emirates. We have shown how people can truly fly better on the A380, and Emirates has set the standards for that by introducing customer experiences that are unique to the A380 like our Shower Spas and Onboard Lounge. e A380 will remain a pillar of our fleet well into the 2030s, and as we have always done, Emirates will continue to invest in our on- board product and services so our customers can be assured that the Emirates A380 experi- ence will always be top-notch. On the decision to purchase A330Neos and A350s, HH Sheikh Ahmed said: "Emir- ates' fleet strategy to operate a young, modern, and efficient all-wide body fleet remains un- changed. e 40 A330neos and 30 A350s that we are ordering today will complement Emir- ates' fleet mix, support our net- work growth, and give us more flexibility to better serve sea- sonal or opportunistic demand. Both the A330neos and A350s will play an important role in our future fleet and network plans." e A330neos will be de- ployed on Emirates' regional destinations, and also enable the airline to serve smaller air- ports and thereby open new routes and connectivity for its global network. e A350s will supplement Emirates' long- haul operations, providing the carrier with added flexibility in terms of capacity deployment on 8 to 12 hour missions from its Dubai hub.
