12 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 1 MAY 2019 CULĊTURE CULTURE MUSIC AFTER the podium at the 69th Sanremo Music Festival and the success of the new album "Musica", Il Volo is preparing for a series of prestigious live events, that demonstrate the success worldwide of the three singers in these ten years of ca- reer. On 19 July, Il Volo will be at the Malta Fairs and Conven- tions Center in Malta and on 23 July at the Teatro Antico in Taormina. Their new CD confirms the worldwide success of the trio, who registered success on iTunes having the best-selling albums in 14 location, from Malta to Brazil, from Finland to Israel. With 11 tracks and the pro- duction of Michele Canova, the album highlights the voices of Piero Barone, Ignazio Bos- chetto and Gianluca Ginoble, ending with a CD that repre- sents 10 years of a long friend- ship and music together. In addition to the song "Mu- sica che resta", it contains two unpublished works, "Fino a quando fa bene" and "Vicinis- simo", and the covers of "Ar- rivederci Roma", "A chi mi dice", "People", "La nave del olvido", "Lontano dagli oc- chi", "Be My Love", "La voce del silenzio" and "Meraviglio- sa Creatura". Celebrations for the 10 years of the trio's career continue with unmissable concerts around the world. It starts in May 2019 with live shows in Japan, where already in 2017 the trio had sold out in Tokyo and in Kawasaki. In May Il Volo will be in Italy for two exclusive dates in Mat- era. Them in summer the three artists will perform in the most beautiful Italian locations on a tour that will end with a show in Verona. In Autumn Il Volo will be in concert in the most impor- tant cities in Europe and Latin America. The three artists started their career at a very young age, in 2009, and their constant ascent has led them to duet with art- ists including Barbra Streisand and Placido Domingo, win the Sanremo Festival, fill the Are- na of Verona and Radio City Music Hall of New York, and peforming in front of stand- ing crowds on tour in Europe, America and Japan. Il Volo recently received the Gold Creator Award, a recog- nition that YouTube attributes to channels that exceed one million members. After Morandi, Malta prepares to welcome Il Volo LONG Live The Queen, the Ulti- mate Queen Show, featuring Break Free which is considered one of the best Queen Tribute Bands in Eu- rope, will be presented on Friday 17 May at Ghaxaq Grounds. This is yet another in a series of great concerts organised by Ghax- aq Music Events and which have included Modern Talking, Winter Moods and the Pink Floyd Project. This show tries to offer an excit- ing experience recreating as faith- fully as possible a legendary Queen concert. Image and sound are continu- ally studied in detail to achieve this goal. Thanks to their experience in the international music scene, the Long Live the Queen show is greeted with enthusiasm all over Europe. They fill the squares and amaze thousands of viewers and boast many sold out concerts. The band's singer has been de- scribed by many fans as one the best Freddie Mercury after the leg- end itself and his live performanc- es prove it. He has meticulously analysed and embodied the body language of Freddie Mercury on stage, his vocal timbre, extension, accent, pronunciation and all that is nec- essary to create the illusion of seeing the legend on stage. The same applies to the rest of the band's members who recreate Queen's sound, movements and energy. The band's energy really honors Queen's best performances in their golden years, and modern equipment and technical know-how make this show extremely appealing to the mod- ern public. After the success of the film Bohe- mian Rhapsody Ghaxaq Music Events are keen to present this show which will include all greatest Queen releas- es including We Will Rock You, Bohe- mian Rhapsody, We are the Champi- ons, The Show Must Go On, and Love of my Life. As done in previous concerts the or- ganizers will ensure to create a mem- orable experience including various effects such as fireworks in the show. Parking areas near the venue will also be available. The event will also feature Vinyl Paradise and Airport impressions who will kick start the concert at 8pm.
