It aimed to further develop the wom- en's skills and confi dence, helping them to fully express their voice, authentic power and leadership ability, BOV said in a statement on Wednesday. "At Bank of Valletta, we simply believe in the power of women. Over half of our workforce is made up of women. We believe that through such training programmes, which are aimed specifi - cally at women, we can assist them in reaching their full potential, strength- ening their natural traits and cultivate their own authentic style of leadership," Tania Camilleri from BOV's Employee Development Unit said. "We do not want our women to em- ulate male leaders, we want them to remain true to their competences, be- cause it is only through diversity of skills that our company can continue to grow and fl ourish. It is what makes us diff erent," Camilleri highlighted. "Bank of Valletta takes pride in its re- cruitment and career advancement pol- icy that has always been open equally to both genders based on talent and skills. We are proud to be one of the organisa- tions where there the gender pay gap is non-existent", chief of BOV's Ethics and Employee Development department Anthony Scicluna said. "Increasingly we are having more women occupying middle management roles, and we want them to reach the highest positions within the bank be- cause diff erent ideas and perspectives help us innovate and further expand out business, while meeting the needs of our diverse clientele. Organisations with non-gender balanced management teams run the risk of becoming stagnant and non-relevant to the needs of today's society," Scicluna said. e programme involved interactive workshops, which were delivered by key trainer Jozie Devoy in partnership with Tania Camilleri. ey provided opportunities for net- working and collaboration between women coming from diff erent areas within the bank and generated a num- ber of innovative ideas which BOV will now seek to implement. 73 female BOV employees complete Women in Leadership course e programme is aimed to further enhance women's skills and con dence, helping to fully develop their leadership abilities
