10 Theatre UNTIL JUNE 16 VII (Sette) Teatru Malta in partnership with FCN will be re-telling this monumental narrative through the eyes of Mal- ta's Artists of the Year: The New Victorians. The sister duo, made up of Bettina and Philippa Cassar, will not only be composing the show but directing and performing in this one-of a kind outdoor musical at Fort St Elmo's Pi- azza d'Armi on the 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th and 16th of June in Valletta. That's six chances to watch this bilin- gual, action packed perfor- mance! Performances begin at 9pm and are suitable for audi- ences of all ages. For more in- formation on VII (Sette) visit www.teatrumalta.org.mt or call 21220255. JUNE 11 The Sapphires Gail, Cynthia, Julie and Kay are sexy, black, young and tal- ented – and they've never set foot outside Australia. Until, in the chaos of 1968, they're plucked from the obscurity of a remote Aboriginal mis- sion, branded as Australia's answer to The Supremes, and – grasping the chance of a lifetime – dropped into the jungles of Vietnam to enter- tain the troops. Inspired by the hit stage-play of the same name, the screening is being organised by the Australian High Commission in relation to the exhibition 'Yiwarra Ku- ju: The Canning Stock Route' as part of the Spazju Kreattiv Programme 2018/2019. Music JULY 9 Dream Theater Rock 'N Malta presents progressive metal pioneers Dream Theater promising a unique, complex yet melod- ic, hard yet emotional brand of rock which is as sweet on the heart as it is crushing on the bones. Fans can expect a startlingly sublime synthesis of soaring and unmistakable melodies and the virtuoso guitar playing of John Petruc- ci in a live performance that is big, long and diverse as only Dream Theater can make it. JULY 18 Liam Gallagher Live in Malta If you had to make an equa- tion of all the elements that made the early Oasis singles so apocalyptically good - i.e. huge waves of guitar hooks + melody you can't shake for… ever + thunderous rhythm + LIAM GALLAGHER'S VOICE delivering an unbe- lievably catchy chorus - then Wall Of Glass fits in the lin- eage perfectly. It's hard to recall a time he's sung bet- ter - it's like hearing him for the first time again, the same yearning menace that claimed a million hearts by the end of Supersonic's first chorus. His voice is definitely on point. Date: Thursday 18 July. Ven- ue: Il-Fosos. Doors Open: 7pm JULY 15 – 20 Malta Jazz Festival The 29th annual Malta Jazz Festival will be held from July 15 to July 20 this sum- mer.
