maltatoday | SUNDAY • 28 JULY 2019 17 COMMERCIAL 17 CURRENTLY more and more people are choosing to become self-employed and develop their ideas into fully fledged businesses. It is now even easier for small busi- ness owners to open a bank account thanks to improvements made to HSBC Fusion – designed especially to give greater control over one's per- sonal and professional life. HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. is introduc- ing major changes to the way sole traders can join HSBC Fusion. Opening an account can be quite complicated and takes time. To make the process easier, custom- ers can now apply online from the comfort of their office or home, open an account, submit scanned docu- ments and, if everything is in order, receive a call from a Fusion specialist to confirm a meeting at their branch of choice. During this meeting, they will then be given a fully functional business debit card, access to Internet Banking and a business current account. Gregory Inglott, HSBC Malta Depu- ty Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, said: "The enhanced online experience for sole traders will save time, connect customers to the services they need, and provide ac- cess to dedicated specialists that can help. One of our ambitions at HSBC is to continue investing in the service we provide to business owners and to nurture entrepreneurial spirit." Introduced in October 2017, HSBC Fusion offers a combined banking ser- vice - for professional and personal life - to owners of small businesses with lending needs of up to €100,000 and an annual turnover of up to €1 million. The opening of the Fusion account is completely free. Eligible Fusion customers enjoy full control over their daily banking trans- actions by accessing their accounts anytime and anywhere, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each Fusion account is serviced by a dedicated specialist. HSBC Fusion launches enhanced online experience for sole traders BANK of Valletta is supporting 'Broken Wings' a publication about the aviation accidents, incidents and other stories be- tween 1915 and 2015. Author Colonel Mark Said presented a copy of the pub- lication to Caritas Director Anthony Gatt and Executive PR and Marketing at Bank of Valletta Charles Azzopar- di during a visit to the Male Quarters at Caritas's Reha- bilitation centre in San Blas that are undergoing extensive restoration also through the Bank's support. 'The publication encom- passes over thirty years of research, and charts Malta's first aviation century from a different perspective,' said Colonel Said. 'The book is a comprehen- sive chronological record of every civilian and military aviation accident and inci- dent with a Malta connection. It is the most detailed work of its type ever published with thousands of entries and is sure to become the standard reference on the subject. The book is dedicated to all those courageous men and women who somehow contributed to Malta's aviation, from the early biplanes to the modern jets, the men and their flying machines, tragedies and mis- takes, and on occasions the ones lost or left behind.' 'Bank of Valletta took into consideration the unique his- torical aspect of the book as well as the fact that all pro- ceeds will go to the Caritas re- furbishment project,' Charles Azzopardi said. 'It is interesting to note how a publication about aviation disasters will contribute to- wards a project that will ben- efit the fabric of the Maltese Community, a project that the Bank and its staff mem- bers have invested consider- ably in.' Thanking Colonel Said for his altruistic gesture and Bank of Valletta for its sup- port, the Caritas Director said 'We are delighted that the re- furbishment project is at such an advanced state and that current and future residents will be able to go through the programme in a modern and comfortable environment. We welcome Colonel Said's donation and appeal to the public to help us continue in our mission.' The limited edition book is available from the leading bookshops. It is hardbound, A4 in size with 703 pages. All proceeds from this book are earmarked for Caritas.
