17 COMMERCIAL maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 11 SEPTEMBER 2019 VOTING in The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta & Gozo annual Res- taurant survey is now open until 30 Septem- ber. The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta & Gozo will be holding its annual res- taurant survey online at www.restaurantsmal- ta.com during the month of September. The guide will this year be holding its 20th survey which will result in it's 20th publica- tion and awards ceremony. From the results of the survey the top rated 150 restaurants will be included free in the guide and the top 40 and other special awards will be presented with their accolades in De- cember with the launch of the special 20th anniversary edition of the guide. The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restau- rants in Malta & Gozo announced three-year collaboration agreements with both Global Payments Ltd and Nestlé Malta Limited. The survey is held every year in September on www.restaurantsmalta.com. Diners who have visited the restaurants throughout the previous year can vote on food, ambience and service for all restaurants in Malta for the whole month of September. Their ratings will determine which restau- rants will be included in the 2020 edition of the guide. Voters rate the restaurants on food, ser- vice and ambience on a scale of 1 to 10 and also indicate who should be the winners of the special awards including best Maltese restaurant; best restaurant for business entertainment; best value for money res- taurant; most romantic restaurant; most child friendly restaurant, best restaurant restroom and also most pet-friendly res- taurant. Voters are urged to send in their funny and informative comments and be in the running to win one of these prizes: • A weekend break for two in one of the unique Highline Suites at InterContinental Malta. • A one-night stay for two on half-board at Solana Hotel & Spa • A Hummer Limousine ride for up to 20 persons from Route 66 Group Limousine Service • A €200 luxury gourmet hamper from DICAL House • €100 in Gerard Bertrand Wines repre- sented by Mirachem • €100 voucher for Riedel glassware • A meal for two at Palazzo Preca, Val- letta • A meal for two at Tosca Restaurant, Mellieha 23 LifeCyclists and a seven-strong back- up support team including a medic, from Nescafé 3in1 LifeCycle Challenge are flying Emirates from Malta to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. One more cyclist from Kenya will be joining the group in Vietnam. Tomorrow they will start their daring challenge, which is considered as one of the top ten toughest cycling chal- lenges in the world. Now in its 21st edition, the Challenge is held annually to raise money for per- sons suffering from kidney disease. The 2019 edition is taking the Life- Cyclists through three beautiful Asian countries – Vietnam, Laos and Cam- bodia. Sponsored by Nestlé's signature brand Nescafé 3in1 for two consecu- tive years, the Challenge will end on 21 September. The LifeCyclists will re- turn to Malta on 24 September. On the first day, LifeCyclists will hit the saddle early morning from the out- skirts of Vietnam's capital Hanoi. They will cycle through many undulations and one tough 17km climb until they reach the idyllic town of Mai Chau. Every morning they will rise very early and cycle a distance of around 185km to 220km each day. Five vehicles driven by locals will follow the cyclists, with check-points every 40km to 45km. The route will take the LifeCyclists through mountains and breath-taking views until on the fifth day they reach Xepon in Laos. From Laos they will cycle long dis- tances through remote villages until they enter Stung Treng in Cambodia on the eight day. In Cambodia, they will experience some rough off-roads and may fend off some unfriendly animals, but roads should improve as they will reach their final destination being Angkor Wat, a Unesco Heritage Site, in Siem Reap. "The three countries we are visit- ing all have beautiful landscapes, but the challenge is not easy. Spending 10 hours on the bike saddle in hot temper- atures, living in very basic conditions, eating from a field kitchen and being away from your loved ones is a huge and complex challenge. But, I always tell LifeCyclists that your worst day on the bike is still better than a patient's best day on dialysis. Ultimately, this is what LifeCycle Challenge is all about," said LifeCycle Founder Alan Curry. LifeCycle (Malta) Foundation is Malta's only NGO that works tirelessly in raising funds to assist kidney patients, increas- ing specialised research study in kidney disease and generating further aware- ness about organ transplants in Malta.
