Impoverished Morris begins courting Catherine, but her wealthy father thinks that he may be after her for financial reasons. Catherine doubts her father's suspicions but later realises that they may be valid. Starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Albert Finney. MONDAY Darkness [Documentary] 9pm on Discovery Science (Channel 402) For years, tough competitors have proven they can survive without food, clothing or shelter – but can they survive without light? Inspired by extreme training scenarios conducted by NASA and Special Forces, this reality series pushes three survivalists to their limits in complete darkness. They will endure days buried underground while navigating prehistoric cave systems, ancient subterranean cities and centuries-old abandoned mines. Having never met before the challenge, the competitors will need to become intimately familiar with each other as they work together in confined spaces. They must attempt to combine their diverse skills to overcome the problems and navigate their unseen environment. The risks of hallucination, disorientation and sleep deprivation are real in this comprehensive test of mental and physical strength as they attempt to escape from the darkness. TUESDAY Vendetta (2015) [Film] 9.30pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) Dean Cain and WWE Superstar The Big Show star in "Vendetta," an action-packed thriller about a detective pushed beyond his limits who will stop at nothing for vengeance. When his wife is killed by a criminal that he put away, Mason (Cain), a hard- nosed detective, deliberately gets arrested in order to get revenge. While inside, Mason discovers a new criminal enterprise that those behind it would kill to protect. WEDNESDAY The Hot Zone [Documentary] 8pm on National Geographic (Channel 406) In 1989, in a scientific facility outside Washington, DC, the deadly Ebola virus made its first known appearance on US soil. The finding — and eventual containment — of this lethal filovirus, which had a fatality rate of up to 90 percent at the time, was thanks to a group of courageous scientists and soldiers led by Lieutenant Colonel Nancy Jaax. National Geographic's six-part limited series "THE HOT ZONE", is inspired by the true events detailed in Richard Preston's international best-seller of the same name. THURSDAY BH90210 [Drama Series] 8pm on FOX Life (Channel 304) Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling reunite when some suggest it's time to get a "Beverly Hills, 90210" reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. FRIDAY Gold Divers – Season 8 [Documentary] 8pm on Discovery Channel (Channel 400) In Nome, Alaska, the summer gold mining season roars to life – and it's the richest yet. The miners are using new strategies, locations and equipment upgrades to get the most gold that has ever been taken out of the Bering Sea. Captain Shawn Pomrenke – the man they call 'Mr Gold' – is looking to stay on top of Nome's gold-mining heap. He hopes for a strong showing, needing capital to construct his multi-million-dollar mega- dredge. SATURDAY Dolls (1987) [Film] 10.22pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) A group of motorists, including young Judy Bower (Carrie Lorraine), her horrible father (Ian Patrick Williams), her evil queen of a stepmother (Carolyn Purdy-Gordon) and a meek businessman named Ralph (Stephen Lee), become stranded at a spook y mansion during a night-time thunderstorm. The house's strange owners (Guy Rolfe, Hilar y Mason) of fer overnight lodgings, but with the dastardly intentions of making their visitors the play things of their murderous toy dolls. What to watch this week Streaming picks Your guide to the best shows on streaming platforms The Boys [Season 1] Amazon Prime The Boys is set in a universe where superpowered people are recognised as heroes by the general public and owned by power ful corporation Vought International, which markets and monetises them. Outside of their heroic personas, most are arrogant and corrupt. The series primarily focuses on t wo groups: the Seven, Vought International's premier superhero team, and the titular Boys, vigilantes looking to keep the corrupted heroes under control. The Boys are led by Billy Butcher, who despises all superpowered people, and the Seven are led by the egotistical and unstable Homelander. The Spy Netflix The mini-series follows the true-life exploits of the Mossad spy, Eli Cohen. The stor y transpires during the years leading to the 1967 conflict bet ween Israel and Syria. It follows Cohen's past in Egypt as an army reject, to his infiltration of the Syrian Ministr y of Defence. He assumes the identit y of Kamel Amin Thaabet and establishes himself in Syrian high societ y. Af ter befriending those who would eventually take over Syria, he manages to become the countr y's Deput y Defence Minister and a close confidant to the future president Amin al-Hafiz.
