26.09.19 6 NEWS JESMOND Mizzi Financial Advi- sors Ltd (JMFA) recently organised a whole day team building event for its employees away from their offices, at a venue with splendid country views in the south of the island. e programme included motiva- tional talks and team-building activ- ities with the aim of enabling partic- ipants to explore and discover new strengths and leadership skills to help them thrive in their workplace. Employees gathered early in the morning and started the day with a healthy breakfast which was followed by a talk by Jonathan Shaw, Associate at Baton&Baton, on how one should challenge his/her thinking, while un- derstanding the role that cognitive be- haviour plays in everyday life. e team-building games were or- ganised by a local leading event or- ganising company. Employees were grouped in different teams and com- peted against each other in: Trolley Train, Wooden Puzzle, Gutter Ball and Egg Drop to mention a few. OKEx to host first Malta Tech Week in partnership with Delta Summit THE Malta Business Bureau (MBB) and HSBC Malta Foundation launched IN- VEST+, a project seeking to improve lev- els of financial literacy in Malta through mentoring sessions and workshops on finance, accounting, savings and invest- ment. e objective is not to turn partic- ipants into financial experts, but to give them an understanding of crucial con- cepts, therefore allowing them to become financially independent on a personal and professional level. MBB President Simon De Cesare said that "As a business-representative organ- isation, the Malta Business Bureau has embarked on various distinct initiatives, covering different policy areas, to help bring together the EU vision and interests of the Maltese business community". Speaking on behalf of the HSBC Malta Foundation, CEO Andrew C. Beane said that the Foundation's support to MBB is "an investment which is part of a much broader, and deeper commitment to de- veloping 'Future Skills' – a key part of the bank's updated sustainability strategy".
