This product is being offered on the market through the collaboration between Bank of Valletta, the Malta Develop- ment Bank and the EU Funds Management Authority. Individuals who are seeking to undertake full-time, part-time or distance learning study courses, which would provide them with a Diploma (MQF 5), Bachelors (MQF 6), Masters (MQF 7) or Doctorate (MQF 8) level quali- fication, or internationally rec- ognised certificates, can apply for a loan up to a maximum of €100,000. "BOV is proud to be at the fore- front in assisting students to fur- ther their studies with a highly attractive financial solution," said BOV Chairman Deo Scerri. "This product, devised with the support and collaboration of the Malta Development Bank and the EU Funds Management Au- thority is aimed at students who are seeking affordable financ- ing for pursuing their education further, from diploma level up to doctorate level. It is aimed at Maltese citizens or residents, to achieve the best suitable em- ployment after their studies, de- veloping their full potential." The objective of the package is to avoid any financial burden during the study period. The fi- nancing package comes with a maximum term of 15 years and benefits from a moratorium pe- riod of up to 5 years with repay- ments coming from students' future income. Besides the highly attractive interest rate that this package of- fers, the interest due during the studies period is fully covered by the European Social Fund (ESF) placing no payment obligation on the student during this period of low or no income. The financing needs no col- lateral, and is earmarked to be repaid in the period after the students finish their studies with the income earned from their prospective place of work. The loan is structured in the best possible manner, to ensure that the loan is affordable for the student when starting em- ployment.' The Malta Development Bank is once again collaborating with Bank of Valletta, this time to support students and profes- sionals in developing their po- tential through further and high- er education. Loans under this programme shall cover tuition fees, accom- modation costs, subsistence ex- penses and other expenses re- lating to furthering studies both abroad and as required in Malta. The BOV Studies Plus+ Fi- nancing Package is financed un- der the Operational Programme II – 'Investing in human capital to create more opportunities and promote the wellbeing of society' which is co-funded by the European Social Fund Pro- gramme 2014-2020. Easier access to further studies with the BOV Studies Plus+ THE Waterfront Hotel, a leading 4-star hotel situated along the Sliema promenade has been recognised for implementing sustainable mobility measures. The Green Mobility Policy which is spearheaded by the Ministry of Tour- ism is designed to promote sustainable methods of transport in connection with hotels, as well as the rest of Malta. "We recognise the impact that our day-to-day operations can have on our environment. We are proud to be leading this positive change to limit (?) the tourism industry's impact on the environment. Our aims are to improve our guests' travelling experience in Malta, to raise awareness about green mobility and to safeguard our island's environmental assets'' said Maria Mi- callef, CEO of the Waterfront Hotel. The Waterfront Hotel continuously promotes walking, cycling, public transport and shared transport, to re- duce carbon emissions. Guests are encouraged to adopt more sustainable and green mobil- ity options, by actively promoting and continuously improving the hotel's environmemtal initiatives. Such measures include having a se- cure bicycle parking facility onsite, for guests and staff, shared shuttle trans- port to the airport and weekly cultural activities, promotion of shared bikes and the sale of public transport cards from the hotel reception. Charmaine Camilleri, General Man- ager of the Waterfront Hotel said the award would push the hotel to con- tinue working towards achieving more sustainable practices. "We are working to implement measures to ensure that our practices are sustainable across every level and channel. Thus, our Green Mobility Policy targets all stakeholders, includ- ing guests, employees, visitors, suppli- ers and business associates," she said. "By contributing to a sustainable transport management system within the tourism industry, we also aim to improve the quality of life of residents in Malta. All in all, these measures are aimed at mitigating the carbon foot- print left by the hotel industry in Mal- ta and The Waterfront Hotel is com- mitted to doing its part.''
