10.10.19 14 NEWS BANK of Valletta has recently up- graded its Internet Banking system and Securekey to further safeguard customers' security when effecting payments. e black BOV Securekey has been replaced with a digital key 'BOV Signatures' which can be ac- cessed through one's smartphone or with a new upgraded physical Securekey. Customers carrying out finan- cial transactions are now request- ed to enter the last five digits of the account that they would like to transfer money to, together with the payment amount. is authen- ticates the transaction, providing further protection for customers by strengthening their online banking security and reducing the opportu- nity for fraud. In order to make the payment pro- cess as simple and fast as possible, while at the same time retaining the additional layers of security, cus- tomers using the digital key can use a new function 'Cronto' to authorise and authenticate their transactions. Instead of entering the account dig- its and payment amount, customers can simply scan the 'Cronto' image on their BOV Mobile App and en- ter the code that appears onto their BOV Internet Banking. To start using 'BOV Signatures' and the 'Cronto' function for fast and easy payments through the BOV Internet Banking, custom- ers can download the BOV Mobile Banking App free of charge from Google Play or App Store. BOV Internet Banking made safer FOLLOWING a successful course as CEO of Microsoft for Greece, Cyprus and Malta, Peggy Antonakou is taking the next step in her career, outside of Microsoft. e company would like to thank her for contribution to the accomplishment of crit- ical strategic and business goals during the last 7 years and to wish her every success in her next steps. Until a new CEO is appointed, the position will be covered by eodosis Michalopoulos, who is a member of the Leadership Team of the company and currently holds the position of Enterprise Commercial and Public Sector Sales Director for Microsoft in Greece, Cy- prus and Malta. Michalopoulos has a long and successful track-record of significant accomplishments in the technology industry and Microsoft. He joined the company in 2014, as of the Director of the Consumer Channels Group. Despite the challenging macro-economic environment, he contributed to achieving a highly prosperous period in the sales sector for three consecutive years. In his next position as Enterprise Commer- cial Sales Director, he led the transformation of a traditional sales approach into a mod- ern customer-centric model, tapping on his strong experience in managing large teams, to significantly empower the digital transfor- mation of Microsoft in Greece, Cyprus and Malta. In his new interim role, he will focus on con- tributing to the transformation and growth of the company's customers and partners in Greece, Cyprus and Malta. Michalopoulos holds a BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the Universi- ty of Sussex, an MSc in Communications & Signal Engineering from the Imperial College of Science & Technology of London and an MBA from the Athens Laboratory of Busi- ness Administration (ALBA). Leadership change for Microsoft Greece, Cyprus and Malta HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. is cele- brating the conclusion of anoth- er successful summer internship programme. e programme took place as part of HSBC's Future Skills strategy which aims to train the next generation of leaders. Interns from JAYE Malta Founda- tion and MCAST spent this sum- mer learning about the functions at the bank's retail and commercial businesses, customer service op- erations, accounting, communica- tions, business technology services, marketing, human resources, and other areas. To maximise their experience during their internship, the bank organised a number of meetings for them with senior leadership in addition to a dedicated mentor to support them on a daily basis. ese meetings were set up to enhance their careers and de- velop their skills at HSBC. is time round, the bank also set up a 3-month objectives plan on its HR system. One of the most interesting meet- ings for the students – all of them millennials – was the last session when they got to meet employees who have been at the bank for more than 40 years. Future Skills is a key part of HS- BC's updated sustainability strate- gy. Globally, HSBC Group is com- mitting to help one million people develop employment-related skills through focusing $80 million in funding as well as another one mil- lion people to increase their level of financial capability via $35 million in projects by 2020.
