This was the sixth edition of the RSM World Day. This year's theme was "The Bigger Picture" whereby employees were encouraged to embrace the key el- ement of RSM's global strategy, which is to empower and develop its people so that they can serve its clients in increas- ingly innovative and complex ways. The day kicked off with a series of talks for all RSM Malta employees. Fol- lowing lunch, all employees were split into 17 teams and they participated in an interactive treasure hunt in Malta's old capital city, Mdina. All teams had to scour the city for the clever fact-finding clues and at the end of the treasure hunt the winners were announced at a reception held at the nearby il-Veduta restaurant. "We are proud to form part of RSM In- ternational, and the annual RSM World Day is a great occasion for us to see the 'bigger picture' and understand who we are and what value we give to our cli- ents and shareholders. The day served also to reinforce in practice our values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excel- lence and stewardship. This day helped us to bond with each other and, more importantly, value the fact that we work and play together," said Maria Micallef, Managing Partner of RSM Malta The firm is a member of RSM Inter- national; a worldwide network of in- dependent professional services firms, providing audit, tax, and specialist ad- visory services to ambitious growing organisations around the globe. RSM International is represented in 116 countries. The combined organisation has over 41,000 professionals in more than 750 offices. RSM Malta celebrates International RSM World Day The winning team of RSM Malta's Mdina Treasure Hunt, which was part of the company's International World Day celebrations DENNIS Mercieca and Sue Abela have been crowned BOV National Senior Champions. Mercieca and Abela took an early lead on the first day of the three day tournament and both averaged well over 200 per game to emerge worthy winners of the title. This was Abela's third win from as many attempts, while Mercieca obtained his first success in the four editions he has participated in to date. National champion Sue Abela continued to increase the gap to finish with an excellent 206 average over 18 games to retain her crown. The battle for second place be- tween Liliana Spiteri and Josephine Borg was a very tight one right down to the last throw, with both ending up with the same identical total after 18 games. However, Spi- teri was awarded second place due to her higher last game compared to Borg. The men's section was much tighter. Going into the third and last day of competition, Mercieca had a considerable lead over Mark Spiteri, who recently won the Bronze Medal winner at the Sen- iors World Cup and 3rd placed Kenneth Arpa. The two crept closer to Mercieca who had an uncharac- teristically low 137 game. However, Mercieca rallied back with two final games over 200 to emerge a com- fortable winner in these BOV Na- tional Seniors Championships. 4th place went to Giancarlo Tolu. The top four men will go on to represent Malta in the 2020 European Seniors Championships. Ernest Agius, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta presented the trophies to the winners. Bank of Valletta is a major supporter of sporting initiatives in Malta and a partner of the Malta Ten Pin Bowl- ing Association.
