maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 20 NOVEMBER 2019 12 COMMERCIAL MALTESE band SterjoTipi have just released the title track of their debut and up- coming E.P. entitled 'Mostri'. The previous two tracks of their E.P. 'Ħajja ta' Xejn' and 'Int u Jien' were very well re- ceived from fans and media, with summer hit song 'Int u Jien' reaching the Top 5 of the Maltese PRS Chart and over 66,000 views on You- Tube. SterjoTipi now presents their listeners with a totally different track from their previous ones. Mostri speaks about the new phenomenon of high- rise buildings in Malta. The lyrics in the song speak about the greed, ego and power held by developers in Malta. SterjoTipi want to voice their concern, through this song, about the lack of pru- dence and respect towards the Maltese landscape. The exaggerated metaphor that these "monsters" (referring to the high buildings) are blocking the sun ("jaħbulna x-xemx") is purposely stated in the song, to incite legisla- tors to properly change or amend present policies tar- geting this issue. In a way 'Mostri' is a patri- otic song sung and played by four young locals who have Malta and its landscape close to their hearts. 'Mostri', however is not, and does not want to be associ- ated with any political party, movement or organisation. The band consider the title track to be a rock song which people will enjoy listen- ing to on their playlists and podcasts. In fact, all of Ster- joTipi's music can be found on Spotify and all the other media platforms such as Fa- cebook and YouTube. The music video of 'Mostri' can be viewed on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/ SQSqftkXZyo. More information on up- coming gigs can be found on SterjoTipi's Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ sterjotipi/) and Instagram ( h t t p s : / / w w w . i n s t a g r a m . com/sterjotipi/) pages.
