The event is free of charge but a ticket is required to attend. This visa is given to stu- dents once they collect ten different stamps in their passport during visits to ten different Heritage Mal- ta sites and museums. An adult may accompany each student for this special oc- casion. The Conservation Division is entrusted with the overall responsibility of providing preventive conservation, c o n s e r v a t i o n - r e s t o r a t i o n services and scientific diag- nostic services to the various museums and sites within the remit of Heritage Malta. Towards this end, the main functions of the Conserva- tion Division include the organisation, coordination, monitoring and implemen- tation of selected conserva- tion-restoration projects. The Conservation Division also cooperates with other entities that are involved in c o n s e r v a t i o n - r e s t o r a t i o n activity in Malta and abroad. Participating students will visit the different sections of the Conservation Division which cover painting, poly- chrome sculpture, wood, textiles, paper, and objects (glass, metal, stone and ce- ramics). There are four sessions available at 9am, 10am, 11am and noon. A maxi- mum of 10 students can join each session. Participants are requested to be punctu- al. Tickets are available on a first-come-first-served basis from all Heritage Malta sites and museums. No tickets will be available on site and admission is sub- ject to presenting pre-issued tickets, together with the Heritage Malta Passport and Visa. For more information, please send an email to pass- port@heritagemalta.org Heritage Malta Passport Visa holders invited to Bighi Conservation Labs THE Malta Cultural Institute February 2020 Concert will feature the musicians and Soloists of Santa Maria Accordi- on Band under the musical direction of Marthese Busuttil Cassar LBCA Their programme will include classical and popular music, standard numbers and themes from the great films. Soloists from Marie Therese Vassallo Voice Studio will be joining in some of the pieces. The Santa Maria Accordion Band was founded in 1992 by Mro. Marthese Busut- til Cassar and is the only one of its kind in Malta. The orchestra members range from youths to adults, the majority of whom are accordionists but also include a percussionist, a drummer and a bass gui- tarist. In January 2018 the band was regis- tered as an NGO. The February painting exhibition will present works by Julia Curmi Cassar. The co-ordination and presentation of the concert will be in the hands of Dame Mro. Marie Therese Vassallo. Free parking will be available for guests in the grounds of the Junior College during the concert. The theatre is easily accessible, even for persons with special needs, by lift facilities from the parking area or from inside the college. A contribution at the door is requested, to help cover some of the expenses of the MCI and the use of the Junior College Au- ditorium..
