maltatoday | SUNDAY • 23 FEBRUARY 2020 16 COMMERCIAL FIMBANK has recently spon- sored Beating Hearts, an inde- pendent non-profit foundation established primarily to sup- port the needs of parents having children born with a congenital heart defect. Due to the Bank's continued support, FIMBank was pro- vided with a set of high-qual- ity prints, revolving around the Tale of Two Cities theme, which consist of the photo- graphic pairing of two selected cities. The Bank was provided with the pairings of Malta-New York and Malta-Manchester as collages. As a sign of apprecia- tion towards the Bank's contri- butions to this foundation, the President, Prof. Victor Grech signed the prints during an event organised by FIMBank. "The noble work of the Beat- ing Hearts foundation is in- deed endorsed by FIMBank. Victor Grech's work and con- sistent effort to make a direct and positive impact on people who suffer from a congenital heart defect is indeed com- mendable. We look forward to supporting further initiatives undertaken by Beating Hearts" said Jason Zammit, Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing. "FIMBank's consistent sup- port and assistance in our mis- sion is highly appreciated. We have found FIMBank to be very willing in aiding us with our cause and it is thanks to such contributions that we can con- tinue making inroads to help people with congenital heart defects" said Victor Grech. The office, sponsored by Bank of Valletta, is designed to be conducive to a creative safe atmosphere that instigates discussion, creativity and plan- ning. "Thanks to BOV, the modern look and relaxed ambience of the new KSJC office is going to create a more convenient and functional area of service," stat- ed Kleaven Pisani, President of the Kunsill Studenti Junior College. "This will enable us to focus on our work throughout the year, solidifying the best possible experience for Junior College students. This fresh looking office is more appeal- ing to students and will result in KSJC being even closer to students than ever before." Vanessa Borg, BOV Market- ing Manager said: "We believe that students are very impor- tant stakeholders in our so- ciety. They are the leaders of tomorrow and they should be in the centre of discussions as from today. At Bank of Vallet- ta we felt that can help support these students in making this happen." Transforming students' space APS Bank's Chairman, Freder- ick Mifsud Bonnici inaugurated the APS Hub in St Julian's earlier this month. Designed for the community, the space offers meeting facil- ities with WiFi connectivity, while displaying works of art by emerging and established artists. In line with the Bank's commitment to better engage with the communities it serves, the site also show-cases the Bank's sustainable approach, as featured in elements of the furniture and décor. During this event the Bank launched 'Connecting Com- munities', a photography exhi- bition that has the objective to raise awareness on how people can come together to create positive change and celebrat- ing the community spirit. Photos were selected through a competition the Bank organ- ised. The Head Judge of the competition, Frederick Mi- callef, presided over the cere- mony where the winners were given their respective awards. First place went to Mario Cuc- ciardi for his photo 'In Line', while Jeffrey Cassar claimed second prize for this photo ti- tle 'Finishing Strong'. Third prize was awarded to Melvin Bugeja for his photo titled 'Pi- azza Lighting'. Winning images are also featured in the Bank's 2020 Calendar.
