17 maltatoday | WEDNESDAY • 4 MARCH 2020 COMMERCIAL A year ago, two of Malta's biggest bands joined forces and launched a collabo- ration that no one was expecting; Red Electrick and The Travellers gave local music fans something they never knew they wanted. '1' was a collaborative concert which was a first for local events as it saw both bands sharing the stage together at the same time as an 11-man band. The concert not only brought together under one roof fans from both respec- tive bands but also merged languages since The Travellers are known to per- form in Maltese and Red Electrick in English. There was something magical in hear- ing REK's frontman Joe Roscoe sing- ing 'Ersaq fil-qrib' and The Travellers frontman Chris Gatt 'Young Again', it was like hearing the hits for the first time all over again. Without a doubt all those that attend- ed this sold out event were treated to a spectacular show that showcased local talent at it's best. This April, '1' will be back, bigger and better and the guys from The Travellers and Red Electrick are working around the clock and giving it their all to treat their fans to another memorable night once again. The concert is supported by Festivals Malta and will this time round be held at the MFCC in Ta' Qali on the 4th of April and tickets will be out soon.
