Coronavirus PM announces
restrictions on mass events

ROBERT Abela has announced
new restrictions on mass events
after Cabinet agreed to step up
the fight against the coronavirus
outbreak.
All mass events with more
than 2,000 people have been
banned and indoor events will
be limited to a maximum gath-
ering of 750 people.
The decisions come hours af-
ter Malta cut off all air and sea
travel ties with Italy for pas-
sengers.

id-19 case on Tuesday after-
noon. The 16-year-old girl is
the daughter of the man who
tested positive on Monday
night.

THE 16-year-old daughter of the man
who tested positive for the coronavirus on
Monday has also contracted Covid-19, the
health authorities said, confirming the fifth
case of the virus in Malta.
The man had travelled on holiday with
his daughter and partner to Trentino Alto
Adige in northern Italy between 23 and
27 February. The family returned to Mal-
ta through Treviso.
The Health Ministry said that youngster
tested positive for the coronavirus and is
"in good health".
The ministry said the 16-year-old had
not gone to school since coming to Malta.
The girl's mother tested negative for
coronavirus.
Since yesterday evening, the youth, her
mother and father were kept at Mater Dei
Hospital's Infectious Disease Unit.
