Eyesore tents removed from
St John's Square in Valletta
THE unsightly 'tented' struc-
tures illegally set up infront
of three catering establish-
ments in a promiment square
fronting St John's Co-Cathe-
dral in Valletta have been re-
moved. is, after Planning
Authority enforcement of-
ficials gave them an ultima-
tum prior to carrying out
direct action.
Earlier this year, all three
establishments were admin-
istered with an enforcement
notice and a daily fine for
having set up illegal 'tented'
structures outside their re-
spective catering outlets and
for having increased tables
and chairs over the permit-
ted number and footprint.
e Authority will continue
to monitor the sites to ensure
compliance with the law.
