maltatoday | SUNDAY • 15 MARCH 2020 8 LISTINGS TV & FILM TODAY Stir of Echoes: The Homecoming (2007) [Film] 8:15pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) During the invasion of Iraq, the National Guard Commander Ted Cogan sees a van speeding up against his site without respect- ing the warning plates. He orders his men to fire, and later he discovers that in the van there was an Iraqi family. He tries to save a young girl from the fire, but the vehicle explodes and his group is attacked; he enters in coma severely wounded and his friend and neighbour dies. When Ted recovers, he returns home to meet his family, but he is increasingly haunted by ghosts of dead people, premonitions and guilty complex for the death of the innocent family. MONDAY Youngblood (1986) [Film] 9:20pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) Dean Youngblood (Rob Lowe) is an exceptionally skilled young ice hockey player trying to make a name in the Canadian Junior Hockey circuit and impress scouts from the National Hockey League. However, he becomes bullied by goon Carl Racki (George Finn), a dirty player who has injured Dean's teammate and friend, Derek (Patrick Swayze). Af- ter Dean returns to his childhood home deflated, his father (Eric Nesterenko) tries to toughen up the hockey prodigy for a rematch with Racki. TUESDAY This Is Us –Season 4 Part B [Comedy Series] 8pm on FOX Life (Channel 304) The fourth season of the Ameri- can television series 'This Is Us' continues to follow the lives and connections of the Pearson family (siblings Kevin, Kate, Randall and their parents Jack and Rebecca) across several time periods. Season 4 'mid-season' point ended with the family in a good place. Thanksgiving was stressful but in the end, everything seemed to come through. As we await the return of Part B, the brand new promo reminds viewers that in this joy, there are dark clouds on the horizon. WEDNESDAY Patricia Heaton Parties [Culinary] 9pm on Fine Living Network (Channel 333) Actress Patricia Heaton is known for starring in family sitcoms but when she's not on a TV set she enjoys cooking for her real-life family, friends and co-stars. This series goes inside Heaton's home as she draws inspiration from her family and serves party-friendly foods to those closest to her. Whether she's celebrating a special occasion or just looking for an excuse to spend time with friends, Heaton is always willing to throw a bash with lots of food. THURSDAY The Condemned (2007) [Film] 7:45pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) WWE superstar "Stone Cold" Steve Austin stars as a death row inmate who gets a rare second shot at life in director Scott Wiper's adrenaline-charged action thriller. Jack Conrad (Austin) is a dangerous convict currently awaiting execution in a corrupt Central American prison. "Purchased" by a wealthy televi- sion producer and transported to a deserted island, the formidable inmate is offered the opportunity to avoid capital punishment and win back his freedom by fighting to the death against nine other condemned criminals in an illegal game to be broadcast uncen- sored over the Internet. FRIDAY The Object of Beauty (1991) [Film] 8:55pm on AMC Channel (Channel 312) Residing in an upscale London ho- tel, Americans Jake (John Malkov- ich) and Tina (Andie MacDowell) are living a glamorous dream from which they are about to receive a startling wake-up call. It turns out the pair have been spending far beyond their means, and the bill is finally due. In a pinch, they concoct an insurance fraud scheme involv- ing a very valuable sculpture. Then the statue is stolen by a deaf-mute cleaning lady (Rudi Davies), and the couple is shocked to find out it's missing. SATURDAY Salvage Hunters [Documentary] 6pm on Discovery Channel (Channel 400) Modern-day treasure hunter, Drew Pritchard, is one of Britain's leading architectural salvage dealers. Travelling the length and breadth of the UK – and sometimes beyond – Drew and his friend Tee John are on a quest for weird and wonderful objects, hidden gems and forgotten treasures. What to watch this week Streaming picks Your guide to the best shows on streaming platforms GoodFellas Netflix In 1955, a young Henr y Hill becomes enamored of the criminal life and Mafia presence in his working class Italian- American neighborhood in Brooklyn. He begins working for local caporegime Paul "Paulie" Cicero and his associates: James "Jimmy the Gent " Conway, an Irish truck hijacker and gangster, and Tommy DeVito, a fellow juvenile delinquent. Henr y begins as a fence for Jimmy, gradually working his way up to more serious crimes. The three associates spend most of their nights in the 1960s at the Copacabana nightclub carousing with women. The Descent: Part 2 Amazon Prime Two days after the events of the first film, a traumatized and blood- covered Sarah (Shauna Macdonald) escapes the cave with no memory of the events. She is taken to a hospital, where it is found that some of the blood on her belongs to Juno Kaplan (Natalie Mendoza). Sheriff Vaines (Gavan O'Herlihy) takes his deputy Elen Rios (Krysten Cummings), Sarah, and three spelunking specialists – Dan (Douglas Hodge), Greg (Josh Dallas), and Cath (Anna Skellern) – to the cave to find the missing women. The team members are sent down via an old mine shaft operated by the old, mysterious Ed Oswald (Michael J. Reynolds).
