Coronavirus Eight new cases,
including three-year-old boy,
test positive overnight

MALTA has registered eight new cases of coro-
navirus, including a three-year-old boy, whose
parents had already tested positive, the health au-
thorities said.
The total number of cases so far has risen to 38
as Malta started recording its first local transmis-
sions on Monday. Four of the new cas-
es announced yesterday were local
transmissions.

THE body of an as-yet un-
identified individual was
discovered by police in-
side a Santa Lucija apart-
ment at around 3:30pm
yesterday.
The body was discovered
wrapped in black garbage
bags inside the apart-
ment's bathroom. Police
told MaltaToday that this
is a sure case of homicide.
The body was transport-
ed to Mater Dei for an au-
topsy.
Police went on-site af-
ter receiving a call from
neighbours complaining
of a bad smell.
The person, police said,
had been dead for quite
some time.
Duty magistrate Astrid

formed of the case and has
launched an inquiry.
