02.07.2020 NEWS THE Westin Dragonara Resort, located in Malta's seaside town of St. Julian's, has completed a €40 million renova- tion. Standing apart on a natural pen- insula fringed by the sea, The Westin Dragonara Resort, brings warm-heart- ed, luxurious Mediterranean living to a vibrant, historic island. Conceptualised by London based in- terior designer, Lynne Hunt, the new- ly renovated guest rooms offer a light and airy design that promotes relaxa- tion and renewal. Taking inspiration from the extraor- dinary location and the hotel's passion for wellbeing, all design details cham- pion the natural surroundings, featur- ing soft hues of Maltese limestone and the turquoise tones of the Mediterra- nean Sea. The centrepiece of the renovation project is the ever popular hotel lob- by with its's ORVM Lounge and Piano bar. Guests can relax under the soft mood lighting and recharge with the soundtrack of the soothing ocean that drifts from the connecting veranda. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors lead out onto a newly extended veranda, per- fect for al fresco socialising and relax- ing. In addition, guests can choose from the nourishing menu packed with healthy heart-warming dishes or enjoy a 'Crafted at Westin' cocktail from a dazzling array. First opened in 1997, The Westin Dragonara Resort has been at the forefront of Maltese hospitality. With this donation, the bank will be supporting e Food Aid Pro- ject that e Malta Trust Founda- tion set up in March to help reach out to the most vulnerable mem- bers of society, such as families and individuals severely affected by the socio-economic turmoil that the COVID virus has brought about. Established in 2015 by Her Ex- cellency, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President Emeritus of Mal- ta and Foundation Chairperson, e Malta Trust Foundation, is a structure that takes concrete action to support disadvantaged young people aiming for a brighter future through empowerment and psy- chosocial initiatives. Sarah Bondin director of e Malta Trust Foundation said: "To date, we've helped 1,733 families, 24 organisations, and 6,187 indi- viduals. Aiding such a large num- ber of vulnerable people, including single parents and young families who are facing unemployment, pensioners depending on a min- imum income, foreign workers who do not qualify for the govern- ment support scheme, and people who were already living below the poverty line, requires enormous amounts of food. We thank HSBC Malta for supporting and enabling us to be there for these vulnerable people in this time of need."
