NATIONALIST Party leader Adrian Delia yester-
day faced the party's executive committe, 24 hours
after President George Vella confirmed him as lead-
er of the opposition, despite the fact that 16 of 28
PN MPs told the President they had lost trust in
Delia.
Speaking to the media as he arrived for last
night's meeting, Delia said he hoped the executive
committee would focus on the party's interests.
On Monday, President Vella said that, despite
having confirmed that Delia had lost a no-confi-
dence vote, he would not be removing him from
Opposition leader because he remained the lead-
er of the largest Opposition party in Parliament.
"There needs to be a free discussion, as I have
always allowed, but this meeting's principal focus
should be the interest of the party and how it can
present itself as an alternative gov-
ernment," Delia said.
