14 maltatoday | SUNDAY • 6 SEPTEMBER 2020 COMMERCIAL Frank Salt Real Estate Icons of Malta competition winner announced FRANK Salt Real Estate recent- ly announced the winner of its Icons of Malta Property Letting competition which was pro- moted on Lovin Malta, whereby participants were encouraged to share online the Maltese land- marks or symbols which are most iconic to them. One winner was then selected from amongst all of the partici- pants and the grand prize went to Angela Galea, who walked away with a beautiful canvas print of her preferred Maltese icon – the colourful Maltese Balconies. This competition was part of a letting campaign by Frank Salt Real Estate, titled "Icons of Malta", promoting its prop- erty letting services. As with Malta's national icons, Frank Salt Real Estate has been tried, trusted and loved for many years by locals and foreigners alike. Just as these colourful icons are synonymous with Malta's culture and traditions, so is Frank Salt Real Estate synon- ymous with Malta's real estate market. "I'm glad to see that our Icons of Malta campaign was so well received by the general pub- lic, particularly by the younger generation, which accounted for most of our competition subscribers", said Letting Man- ager, Philippa Tabone. "This goes to show that these histori- cal icons are loved and admired by all, which is why we have used these icons as part of our letting campaign. These lovely iconic staples form such a big part of the Maltese culture, tradition and national pride, which is so im- portant in these times," Philip- pa concluded. The icons portrayed include the traditional Door Knocker, the Maltese Door, the colour- ful Maltese Windows, the tra- ditional Maltese Balcony, the Luzzu and the Classic Maltese Bus. They were redesigned with fresh and vibrant colours; colours that Frank Salt Real Es- tate had incorporated into the Group's identity over the last 51 years, such as green, orange, yellow and red. "We love the artworks used for this colourful campaign. We've shown off Malta's her- itage in an innovative and fun way and want it to be used to promote Frank Salt Real Es- tate's letting portfolio both locally and to the rest of the world", remarked Director, Grahame Salt. MAPFRE launches its third call for startups to jointly develop innovative solutions in less than six months Insur_space by MAPFRE has launched a new call to attract initiatives from around the world that want to grow in the insurance market. The third edition of this call for startups is aimed at companies in the early stage or growth phase that already have a product in the insurance market and want to scale, or want to enter the sector through an alliance. Insur_space offers startups the possibility of launching a pilot in less than six months with any MAPFRE unit around the world, including the Group's digital brands –Ver- ti, InsureandGo and Savia–. Unlike most programs aimed at entrepreneurs, Insur_space offers up to 100,000 euros of financing without entering the shareholding of startups. This particular call focuses on three verticals: the aging pop- ulation (to address challenges such as dependency, social iso- lation or home care); proactive health and well-being (promot- ing healthy habits and improv- ing the lives of both healthy people and those suffering illnesses); and risk, damage and claims management (for any business line in the insurance market). Joan Cuscó, director of Insur_ space, summarizes the purpose of the program in one sentence: "Together we can go further." "The collaboration between startups and large companies is an opportunity that neither party can miss. We position ourselves as the benchmark program in the insurance sec- tor, reducing processes to weeks that in other conditions take several months. After two years and 22 pilots launched on the market, we know perfectly what we should contribute and what we can expect in return", he adds. The startups participating in the program have access to MAPFRE's 26 million clients and almost 80,000 agents and brokers worldwide, as well as historical data (convenient- ly anonymised in compliance with current legislation). In ad- dition to €100,000 to cover the costs of the pilot, startups can opt for financing from Alma Mundi Ventures Insurtech, a fund participated by MAPFRE.
