Abela, who recently extended the in- quiry's mandate till December 2020, commented that he had his own doubts on the way it is being carried out, when asked by MaltaToday about whether allegations of corruption on the Electrogas power plant merit a public inquiry of its own. "I think the public inquiry is an ex- periment that I have certain reserva- tions on regarding the way the inquiry is failing to keep to the terms of refer- ence given to it," he remarked. When confronted about a public in- quiry into the Electrogas deal, Abela said any inquiry in any situation, will take place using the relevant tradition- al institutions if deemed necessary. 17 Black: Malta police send UAE fresh 'complete' request for information Malta and Conte's hunt for €33m
