maltatoday | SUNDAY • 29 NOVEMBER 2020 7 MUSIC 'MMXX', Mistura's new mini-album LOCAL duo Mistura has just re- leased a new mini-album called "MMXX" with lyrics all in Mal- tese. In addition to the songs "Ma Niflaħx" and "Nifs", which Mistura released earlier this year, this mini-album contains three other new songs. The album is entirely on Spo- tify where you can listen for free at this link: https://open. s p o t i f y . c o m / a l b u m / 2 n A u g - j9AMRvhQHXP5MbFvM "These are songs we wrote af- ter the pandemic started, so we thought it would make more sense to release them now so that they are part of this year's extraordinary story. This also with the hope that next year will be a different and better one." Mistura debuted in 2012, at the L-Għanja tal-Poplu festi- val where they won the WA- FA award for Best New Talent. Since then, they performed at a variety of venues including Rock the South, Teatru Un- plugged, the Farsons Great Beer Festival, the Evenings on Campus, Notte Bianca and Kotra. Before "MMXX" (2020) they released two studio albums, "U d-Dinja Tkompli Ddur" (2014) and "Regħbus" (2018), togeth- er with a live concert album in 2016 called "U l-Kotra Għajtet f'Daqqa". More details are available at misturamalta.com. A Broken Design release new album A Broken Design have released 'Another Day in Hell', their sec- ond release since the debut 'Ha- lo Of Flies' E.P. back in 2017. This new album presents a much more mature, darker and focused chapter in the band's history since 2014. The six tracks showcase a band that have settled in their own skin comfortably and ex- plore the vast influences of the collective which in turn have churned out a heavy brooding and dark personal voyage both musically and lyrically. The debut single and accom- panying video were released back in March 2020 with an official release to coincide with foreign festival dates shortly after. After many rescheduled shows and cancellations which was the norm for 2020, the band has decided to go ahead as planned and release the al- bum before the year's end. Once again recorded at Cor- nerhouse Studios and produced by guitarist Daniel Bezzina (A Broken Design, Slit, Behead- ed) at River Stone Studios, the new album has retained the raw edge the band strive to keep while taking dynamics of the songs to another level as to their previously released mate- rial. The album will be available in digital/physical format from Bandcamp at https://abro- kendesign.bandcamp.com/ Physical copies and band merchandise are available at: h ttps://www.facebook.com/pg/ abrokendesignmalta/shop/ This new album presents a much more mature, darker and focused chapter in the band's history since 2014
