Mobile No. 7953 THE Malta Airport Founda- tion is launching its latest initi- ative, Foundation Talks, which will consist of a series of one- on-one interviews with experts and researchers with whom the Foundation has collaborated on a number of projects since its es- tablishment in 2014. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which dealt a blow to both local and global organisa- tions, derailed the plans of the Malta Airport Foundation to unveil completed projects ear- lier this year, while investment plans for new projects relating to the country's natural and cultur- al heritage also had to be scaled back. However, the Foundation treated these quiet months as an opportunity to explore more in- novative ways to continue work- ing towards its goal of preserving and promoting Maltese heritage and the environment, leading it to venture into the digital space for its latest initiative. "Our aim is to start an accessi- ble conversation about our cul- tural, artistic and environmental heritage and together learn how to better appreciate and safe- guard what makes our islands unique. Through Foundation Talks, we will also be exploring ways in which we can collabo- rate and be innovative in over- coming the present challeng- es and enhancing our tourism product," Malta Airport Foun- dation Chairman Josef Formosa Gauci said. In collaboration with experts and researchers in several fields including environmental pro- tection and biodiversity con- servation, restoration and pres- ervation of cultural and artistic heritage, the first series of Foun- dation Talks will pave the way for a broad discussion which will touch upon these subjects. Hosted by Valerie Vella, the first two episodes of Foundation Talks feature conversations with co-founder of the environmen- tal NGO Żibel Andrew Schem- bri and marine biologist Prof. Alan Deidun, with more talks, which will shed light on other topics of interest, to be revealed in the coming months. Founda- tion Talks can be streamed on demand on Malta International Airport's Facebook page. The Malta Airport Foundation launches Foundation Talks
