THE Chamber of Commerce
yesterday held an urgent meet-
ing with parliamentary secre-
tary Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi in
a bid to clarify exactly how the
new UK/EU trade deal will ac-
tually affect Maltese businesses.
BusinessToday is informed
that many businesses – and
consumers – have been left
confused as to how the free
trade deal that came into effect
on 1 January will actually affect
the importation of goods from
the UK, with many lamenting
the lack of updated and clear
information.
David Xuereb, president of
the Chamber of Commerce,
confirmed that yesterday's
meeting with the parliamenta-
ry secretary was called to allay
members' confusion and clari-
