maltatoday | SUNDAY • 10 JANUARY 2021 6 MUSIC The Busker is back with upcoming collaborative trilogy EP THE Busker, a band which has been present in the local scene for the past five years, are back with their first track for the year from their upcoming collabora- tive Trilogy EP entitled 'X'. Following the local chart top- per 'Just a little bit more' which reached the number 1 spot for 6 straight weeks on local PRS charts, the second single com- ing out from this EP, titled 'Don't you tell me what to feel, is a collaboration with Raquela, a successful local artist who en- joys a solo career and has been part of numerous local events. With a recent change in their line-up, the band wants to take their music into new territories. In this synth pop track we find them experimenting with more modern sounds compared to their previous material. 'X' is a new chapter for The Busker, a transition if you will, to new and exciting times which will be celebrated with a concert at Spazzju Kreattiv, Valletta on the 5th and 6th February, conforming to all so- cial distancing measures. The triumph has been won by the Juno Valdez track "This is Your Life" (Stevy Vee Remix), which also features the track's highlight guitars by David Cas- sar Torreggiani. The Stevy Vee house remix fast became an A-list num- ber, winning rave reviews by acclaimed house DJ Dirtry Secretz, receiving airplay on both Italian and UK radios, fea- turing as 'Tune of the Week' on UK's HOT Radio and climbing to number one on the Malta PRS airplay charts. Signing their track to a record deal is arguably the highest peak an artist can aspire for, and now that too is in the bag for Juno & Stevy Vee. Kooke Records are now man- aging the branding and pro- motion of the track which is scheduled for worldwide re- lease under the 'Kooke' brand in February 2021. Juno Valdez has made good on her promise of 'bigger, better, faster, stronger' which she has used as her mantra on social media during the last months. Looking forward to the re- lease of fresh music in the com- ing weeks. Juno also confirmed that she and Stevy Vee are indeed col- laborating again on new ma- terial and continuing their efforts to compete and make their mark on the world stage for house music.
