SPECIAL COMMENDATION
Tigne Duplex Penthouse
- Forward Architects
e project very successfully addresses the relationship between the scenic
exterior overlooking Marsamxett Harbour and the beautifully designed inte-
rior. Challenges related to the change in levels, which were resolved by using
different materials to highlight the different spaces, which then tie in with the
design of the rooms within the apartment. e furniture layout of each room
allows the residents to enjoy the harbour views while incorporating contem-
porary amenities. Of note is the infinity edge pool which seems to be almost
an extension of the underlying harbour.
SPECIAL COMMENDATION
Concrete House - Archi+
Based on a neutral colour palette and muted tonalities, the design of this
project draws the eye towards the views of the countryside and the sea
beyond. e use of exposed concrete on the exterior is reflected in the
interior, where the successful integration of lighting features highlights the
bespoke furniture and fittings which exemplify this project.
