maltatoday | SUNDAY • 23 MAY 2021 5 BOATING Beautiful, spacious and smart Azimut 53 is the perfect family boat azimutyachts.com Exterior Style & concept by Alberto Mancini Yacht Design NEW AZIMUT 53 Dare to be Beautiful AZIMUT YACHTS OFFICIAL DEALER IN MALTA: Esprit Yachting Ltd. - Marina Di Valletta, Pieta. www.esprityachting.com OFFICIALLY presented in March 2021 with a worldwide streaming Azimut 53 is the new yacht from Azimut Yachts that will compete in the mid-range Flybridge mar- ket segment, where the brand has always played a leading role with some incredibly successful mod- els. The yacht's flowing lines hide surprisingly spacious interiors, making it perfect for a family who want to enjoy long cruises in abso- lute comfort. The exterior design character- ised by a sophisticated aesthetic is by Alberto Mancini, who contin- ues to work in the direction de- fined with the Shipyard for the lat- est models in the Flybridge and S collections. The elegant interiors are designed in a contemporary style by the Azimut Style Office. A family boat designed for spend- ing long periods on board The stated aim is to offer a boat in the 50-foot segment that is per- fect for a family who want to spend long periods on board in absolute comfort. All while staying true to Azimut's hallmark style. The solution was to combine multiple existing solutions in such a way as to create something new, significantly extending both the space on board and our perception of it. The generously proportioned day area is laid out on almost the same level, with the galley near the entrance and the living area sepa- rated by a difference in height of just 25 centimetres. The surpris- ing sense of airiness and freedom of movement that this creates is enhanced by side windows that run uninterrupted, with no up- rights, from just beyond the en- trance area to the windscreen. As a result, natural light and the view over the water are the undisputed protagonists of the yacht, adding to the pleasure of spending time on board. The storage spaces, the depth of the armchairs and sofas, and the galley appliances have all been studied down to the smallest de- tail to ensure functionality, com- fort, convenience and durability. The choice of VOLVO's IPS propulsion system, which keeps the centre of gravity low and re- duces the amount of space need- ed in the engine room, makes it possible not only to reduce the height of the step between the galley and the living area, but also to offer a night area that meets the expectations of the whole family. The master stateroom amidships offers a predominantly full-height space to move around in. The storage spaces in the suite are unbelieva- ble, with a fully appointed walk- in wardrobe, in addition to a second storage column and half- height units along the hull side, plus additional space under the bed for bulkier objects. The lobby has been careful- ly designed to create space for a washer-dryer machine plus stor- age space without reducing the surface area of the third twin-bed cabin, while the partially verti- calized bow makes the VIP cabin particularly roomy, with much more storage space and distance between the bed and the bulkhead than the market average. When designing the exterior ar- ea, the focus was again on conven- ience. With only one stairway to the swim platform, the L-shaped sofa in the cockpit is longer, deep- er and therefore more comforta- ble, while the exterior storage cab- in (or crew cabin) can be accessed directly from the transom. The setting can also be fitted with a bar unit with ice maker and bottle chillers. The foredeck and flybridge sun- pad cushions have a shape, thick- ness and size that are an anthem to laziness and very hard to resist. And in the rear section of the flybridge, the classic dinette be- comes more versatile, proposing an up-down table that turns it into a second lounge area with a privileged vantage point over the water.
