COVID-19: One death, three new cases INDEPENDENT candidate Ar- nold Cassola has requested the Data Protection Commissioner investigate Albert Butigieg over a secret camera in a women's bath- room. On Monday, court expert Mar- tin Bajada said that he found some 14,000 photos that ap- peared to come from hidden cameras in female toilets. Bajada was investigating devic- es seized by the police during a money laundering investigation after Buttigieg and Florinda Sul- tana were charged with launder- ing illicit funds through two res- taurants they ran in Valletta and Marsaxlokk. Martina Bajada did not wheth- er the spy cameras were placed in the restaurant toilets. Cassola said the fact that the camera's lo- cation was not specified, is wor- rying. Sultana is the step-daughter of ex-footballer Darren Debono, who is facing separate proceed- ings for money laundering and fuel smuggling. Cassola said people should know which r e s t a u r a n t b a t h r o o m the camera was placed in, insisting its license should be revoked. "The trust between the client and the res- taurant has been broken." He said if the allegations are true, the camera broke basic human rights. Cassola called on the commissioner to investi- gate whether the photos were sold illegally, or uploaded online, and whether the photos were an attempt at black mailing clients. Capo Mulini statement In a statement to MaltaTo- day last Monday, the restaurant management at Capo Mulini "categorically denied" that any recording equipment had been ever installed or found in the lav- atories of the restaurant and used for illegal activities. "Ristorante Capo Mulini strongly refutes claims that 14,000 images have been taken or have been in their possession or the possession of their employees."
