e project comprises a vision to reconnect the
settlement of Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq with the sea and
promotes the use of collaborative design where-
by road infrastructure also engages planners and
urban designers. It is also an example of how to
spatially integrate outlying urban settlements
through underground links and showcases how
civil engineering can have a positive social impact
by promoting better links and a healthier lifestyle.
Gzira Gardens Marina - Studjurban
is is a good example of a public project, showcasing what can be con-
ceptualised for Malta and Gozo's many waterfronts to make them attrac-
tive public spaces which can be enjoyed by all, and at different times of
day. It is felt that the project also prompts the possibility of realising such
projects through user-funding by, for example, charging a fee from user
groups such as yacht owners who berth their yachts at the marina.
Integrated Transport Strategy for Valletta – Grand
Harbour Rehabilitation Corporation
is is an actual planning project, of strategic importance for Val-
letta. e strategy proposes a well-thought-out transformation for
the city based on integrated planning. e project serves as a good
springboard for discussion towards improving one's experience of
Malta's capital city.
