maltatoday | SUNDAY • 30 MAY 2021 16 COMMERCIAL The Imperial opens its doors after extensive renovation THE Imperial, St.George's Care's newest care home for the elderly in the heart of Sliema, has opened its doors after extensive renovations. Restoring the gran- deur of the old Imperial Hotel building whilst preserving its magnificent architectural her- itage, the new residence adopts the more than two-decade-long expertise, experience and values of Casa Antonia, focussing on the principle of active independ- ent ageing. The tastefully decorated The Imperial boasts over 100 rooms accompanied by 6,000 sqm of amenities, tended to by a warm and friendly community to ensure that residents will feel completely at home, enjoying the support of a dedicated pro- fessional team. The care home includes a three-storey un- derground car park to deliver convenience for both residents and their visitors. The stylishly furnished, spacious single and double rooms all benefit from underfloor heating, en-suite bathroom, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and a nurse call system, as well as air conditioning. The elegant suites comprise a sitting room, a dining area, and a terrace with views. The indoor com- munal spaces of The Imperial allow residents to socialise and enjoy the company of others in the lively atmosphere of large lounges and day rooms. Resi- dents who prefer quieter spac- es, thanks to the plenty nooks and crannies of the building to explore, will find their per- fect spots to enjoy reading in discreet privacy. The Imperial offers fantastic outdoor possi- bilities for those who are ready to explore the wonderful sur- roundings whilst enjoying the fresh, salty air from the nearby coast. Many rooms enjoy large terraces with fantastic views, space for entertainment and for residents to do a spot of their own gardening too. The large beautifully landscaped inter- nal courtyard, set to become a prime venue for entertainment and social activities in the sum- mer months, boasts a pond and aviary, as well as several places to relax in the sun or shade. The state-of-the-art wellness centre opens the doors for a modern therapeutic and hy- draulic pool, a physical rehabil- itation centre, and specialised gym equipment. In this space, residents can exercise in group sessions and physiotherapy sessions, while the three clin- ics offer physiotherapy treat- ments, occupational therapy, podiatrist services and exercise physiologists. Additionally, in- door sports and entertainment facilities are available, includ- ing snooker, pétanque, skittles, darts, bridge, card and board games, as well as a library. The Imperial is a home that truly cares. Its sister home, Ca- sa Antonia, has offered excel- lent care for decades, and The Imperial has adopted the same ethos and support, offering a full spectrum of care and ser- vice options to suit one's par- ticular needs. One can arrange a visit by calling on +356 2145 6440 or by email on info@ theimperialmalta.com.
