Police said the victim, a 37-year-old man from Zurrieq, was working on a glass roof when it broke, causing him to fall from a height. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment. A police investigation is go- ing. A 57-year-old man was griev- ously injured after a traffic acci- dent on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred at Hal Far industrial zone at 3am. The victim, a resident of Cos- picua, lost control of the Hyun- dai Accent he was driving and crashed into an electricity pole. He was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further treatment. A police investigation is going. Man hospitalised after falling through glass roof Man grievously injured after car crashes into pole NICOLE MEILAK A fast ferry service between Valletta and Mġarr in Gozo started operating from today with two competing companies offering a 45-minute trip for foot passengers. The sector was liberalised earlier this year and Virtu Fer- ries Ltd and Gozo Fast Ferry Ltd stepped in to offer a sched- uled service. The service was formally inaugurated on Tuesday by Prime Minister Robert Abela, Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri and Infrastructure Minister Ian Borg in the presence of two catamarans that will be used on the route. The operators will make use of two fast ferry terminals constructed over the past few weeks situated in Grand Har- bour in Valletta and Mġarr Harbour in Gozo. Abela said government be- lieved in providing the oppor- tunity for the private sector to flourish in a level playing field. He added the service linking Mġarr directly with the capital city, where multiple connectiv- ity options existed with public transport, would reduce emis- sions and give Gozitans more time to enjoy with their fami- lies.
